Thought Vatuvei would be all through this thread. I'm a fan and he has improved, but at one point the Boston Strangler had a safer pair of hands.

Does someone like Nathan Gardner count? He didn't necessarily have bad 'hands', just never seemed to be in the right position for kicks... Refused to catch bombs...

Nrl.com has:

1. Jack Wighton - 32 errors (1.9 per game)
2. Marika Koroibete - 25 errors (1.6 per game)
3. Anthony Milford - 24 errors (1.3 per game)
4. Sam Burgess - 23 errors (1.4 per game)
5. Lattrell Mitchell - 23 errors (1.3 per game)
6. Shaun Kenny Dowall - 23 errors (1.6 per game)

Edit
Looked up Will Smith. He has 7 errors for 1.8 per game. Joe Burgess the exact same.

Waqa Blake cops a hammering for errors but has 11 errors for 0.8 per game.

Really unfair comparisons there. To catch balls as a back is a lot more difficult than in the forwards. Burgess is clearly worse than any other guy on that list.

Would think Pomeroy is way up there.

As a Parra fan I never thought I'd see someone drop the ball as much as Taulima Tautai used to....but then along came Peni Terepo. He's learned to hold the ball a lot better this year, but in previous seasons the guy could deadset not catch a pass at all.

Then there's Vai Toutai. He will steamroll over 4 blokes to score a try, but if the line is wide open for him to score you can bet he's dropping that pass.

Micky Vella always used to give me a heart attack every time he ran the ball.

I totally forgot about him.....his hands were f**king shocking...did enough to kill his career here.
Minnichello would hit a crash ball close to the one at 100mph, catch it a millisecond before getting snapped in half without a problem then fumble it playing the ball without a hand on him.

More than anything it was Haynes hands that let him down. He was down for 2 dropped punts and a fumble in traffic. If he held those who knows what would have happened?

Also, Lote Tuqiri in his last season and a half at the tigers had hands like mops.

I remember that game at Parramatta Stadium 6 or 7 years ago or whenever it was and he dropped the first couple of kicks that came his way and of course he was targeted relentlessly after that and I really felt sorry for Manu that night. I'm glad he was able to forge a great career despite what happened that night. It could have broken him like that bulldog dude who bombed that try back in the 80's that Matty Johns always shows, he never played first grade again.
