Okay, I did not want to get involved in the seriousness (is there such a word) of this thread, but my mind as wandered......

Decades ago my Mighty Sharks imported a Cross eyed Pom Front Rower named Vince Farrar.

Well when Vince took to the paddock at Endeavour Oval he looked like an escaped bell ringer from Notre Dame if you get my drift. You know, the "she gave me water" type.

Vince didn't set the world on fire with his tenure at Cronulla but I remember vividly upon his return to the UK, during the next Roos tour, we aussies were unstoppable.

Vince got called up in the second or third test to help stop the aussie onslaught.

My fond memories of that game was the commentator Moose Mossip cracking up laughing everytime Vince got steamrolled. "Where did they get this man from" was one of Rex's comments between chuckles.

And just to show you that this is a politically correct posting and I encourage equal opportunity, and the Moose wasn't one of my all time favorites...... here is a pic of Rex and Nev Charlton. Nev is standing.

Now I am off to take my medication.

Have a great weekend

Cheers
Quigs.

Do not knock the Pale Whale Quigs. The Pommy "suntanned" one, with the speed of a decapitated tortoise brought the Sharks crowd to their feet every time he made an impressive 1/2 meter break, then took a deep breath.
He had the body of an obese wombat, the looks of a crushed pineapple and the speed of road kill.there will never be another of his ilk.And thank bloody goodness.

I can agree that Scott Wilson?s performance in the 1994 Grand Final was one of the worst ever. He was given about seven bombs by Ricky Stuart and did not take a single one cleanly!

Even taking into account Stuart?s skill as a kicker, that is an utterly atrocious effort, and it is hard to comprehend what a topline fullback in a Bulldog jumper would have done to the result of that game - it would have made what actually happened totally impossible. The same thing happened, as far as I have seen, with Noel Goldthorpe in the 1993 major semi final - which probably was a model for the Raiders a year later.

Getting away from this, how good would the 1993 and 1994 Canterbury team have been with a topline fullback rather than a five-eighth or centre?? The fact that they won the minor premiership with a dreadful weakness ruthlessly exploited in both finals series makes me think that with a class specialist at the rear they could have done as well for a full season as Manly in the first half of 1995.

You had to go back 9 years to find this. What type of a life do you have to do that?

I still remember watching that prick Bott burn the outside of our defence all night long.

Nick Kouparitsas
Joe Williams
Ritchie Williams

All steaming piles of shit

Says the guy who starts threads correcting Ray Warren on what month the f**king Red Shield Appeal was in

Scott Minto. Reece Robinson would have been a close second had he not become a good player somehow at Canberra.

Leon Bott was a funny one, he was awesome in attack and was being talked about as the next big thing after his hat-trick against SGID until teams realized he was 5ft and didn't jump at all some they would just bomb to his side and score. depressing :(

Carl Webb.

Because Carl Webb said so.

Why would Carl Webb say so? Seems like an odd thing for Carl Webb to say.

In all seriousness though, as shite as Webb was most of the time (the exception being 2005), he's not a patch on some of the absolute tripe that've played for my club over the years. Shannon Heggarty, Sione Faumuina, Scott Minto, Manase Manuokafoa, Antonio Kaufusi, Michael Bani....

Shudder
