The finish of the ambulance match was ridiculous. Reigns missed with the spear by about two metres :D

Oh Samoa Joe and his deadly sleeper hold :D

I had high hopes for the PPV but didn't love it.
Completely middle of the road with the tag and women's titles being decent.

The Strowman Reigns ending would have been a brilliant double turn......if they actually wanted to do that. Reigns loses the match and proceeds to try and murder his opponent..........and he is a face.

I think the story has potential. Judging by SD they are doing something with Gable as well, so he should hopefully be fine.

That said I don't understand why Graves gets the messages as well. How does he fit into it all.

I haven't been watching Raw, but the conclusion Alvarez & Meltzer came to was that Graves' is being clued in because of his extensive history with NXT.

The other conclusion they came to was that this wasn't the original plan and the writers just made it up as they went along. Sort of like Ole Anderson and the Black Scorpion back in the early 90s. They had an idea, but they had no pay-off and when they had to come up with a pay-off it was also very underwhelming.

It's nice to see another talent pushed but I have a hard time believing Jordan will make anything of this. I just see him as another Swagger, Fandango, Axel etc. who were pushed without knowing how to get over.

Heres how i see it progressing.

Eventually Kurt will be informed that this was all a lie by Triple H.

Jordan will laugh in Kurts face. They'll have a match, possibly at RR. Kurt will win. Kurt will then face off at Trips at WM.

Maybe it's a way to get Mahal over. Don't like his title reign, well Khali was a worse champ so Mahal looks good by comparison.

Seriously, this was a dud PPV, the tag title match was awesome, the US title was okay, the rest was somewhere between bland and terrible.

When your two marquee matches are a Flag and Punjabi Prison match you know you're in big trouble. I just loved how the first ten minutes of the Punjabi Prison match was spent on escaping the first cage and the importance of escaping first, only for Orton to escape second and almost win the match. It didn't get much better from there, a couple of good spots separated by large segments of plodding and slow motion wrestling. I popped for the Khali appearance at the end, score one for the Punjabi Playboy.

Outside of the cool finish, the only memory of Cena/Rusev was Cena deciding to slowly stammer his way to the podium like he was a zombie instead of doing whatever sane person would do and actually jog/sprint over to get the match over and done with. What a stupid stipulation that was and while it was obviously set up so they could do the AA from the podium through the two tables, the set-up wasn't worth it.

Still, none of those matches were as bad as the women's matches. Of all five women, they let the two worst performers (Tamina & Lana) dominate the match. Between that and Naomi's awful commentary it was like a cruel joke.

Otherwise I agree with you Marshall. That modified code red from Woods was nuts, as well as that sick super-kick interference from the Usos. After the match, I was actually looking forward to the rest of the show and thought it could only get better from there. How wrong I was, it was easily the MotN and even the Phenomenal One found himself in an anti-climax.

The Uso's are criminally underrated as a tag team, now they've finally got themselves a distinct personality and have been given some free reign in their promos (story is that both teams wrote all their own stuff for the rap battle, and weren't comparing notes) they are getting over, but their ring work has always been very good. Would like to see another match between them and the New Day at Summerslam, both teams deserve it.

I think AJ & Owens will get a blow off at Summerslam, both matches they have had have sort of felt as though they are holding back. Also, Nakamura's terrible booking continues. Nakamura vs Styles would have been a huge Summerslam match but you can't go with it at the moment. Neither guy feels like a big deal.

The women were kind of dull. It doesn't help that outside of Carmella, all the heels are black holes for charisma. The Natalya vs Naomi build is going to be a slog. Natalya is great in the ring, but man she is brutal to listen to.

I assume we will also get the all American hero Cena beating the evil foreigner in Mahal at Summerslam too, and Orton will have the unenviable task of getting a good match out of Khali.
