Chris Benoit vs. Rey Mysterio could be interesting...then again if that's true what happens to the fate of the World Title?

I want it to be Angle v Jericho or Benoit or Rey

Angle seems to be keen on a match with Taker though, so who knows.

Here's something to make every sane wrestling fan breathe a collective sigh of relief:

We're hearing that the current plan for the Vince McMahon/Shawn Michaels storyline is for Shawn to face none other than The Rock at Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago. In the storyline Vince will apparantly put up "big bucks" to bring back "Hollywood" Rock in an attempt to take out Michaels. Interestingly, you'll remember them doing something VERY similar back in 2003 before No Way Out with The Rock coming back in to face Hogan. Due to the (fairly) detailed description of what the plan is we would assume rock has already been contrcted and has agreed to the match. We would not expect a long feud however, instead expect vince to feud with HBK and bring Rock in just a few weeks prior to wrestlemania. This would work out best for Rock who is beginning filming of a new movie around April time.

This also puts the rumoured Austin/Hogan match in major doubt as we are told WWE do not want to promote both austin/hogan and rock/michaels on the same card, so if this is the plan as we are hearing it is then it seems WWE must have given up on getting austin and hogan together at WM.

More as we get it.

Rock vs. Shawn Michaels makes a heaps better third main event than Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon. Only problem is I can't see Rocky getting booed, and he'll be going into this match as the heel.

I can't see 1 member of the crowd booing him even if he is on Mcmahon's side.

IMO much better than SSA VS hogan

HBK vs Rock will be awsome. I'd love for both HBK vs Rock and Austin vs Hogan to be on the card though, this might be the only time the WWE can have those matches take place at the Wrestlemania Stage.

Backstage News On Possible Angle/Undertaker Feud

-- It has been reported previously from various sources that The Undertaker wants to have a good quality wrestling match at WrestleMania, and the name Kurt Angle specifically has come up in regards to an opponent for him. Taker has been saying that this could likely be his last WrestleMania, and with Kurt Angle’s bad neck you never know when his could be.

With Kurt Angle the new Heavyweight champion, this could open the door for Taker to chase Angle for the title leading into WrestleMania. Past buyrates and ratings have proven that, statistically, having the face chasing the heel for the title does much better in the main event slot in regards to buyrates and ratings.

It's definitly gotta be Angle vs Taker or Orton vs Angle. Or in a more unlikley case Orton vs Taker vs Angle. Can't see them having two triple threat matches for the main titles.

f**k no!

Undertaker isn't going to surrender his unbeaten streak at Wrestlemania, meaning he'd go over Angle and we'd have to endure another boring Undertaker title reign.

Just looking at house show schedules leading into Wrestlemania and the following match-ups feature fairly prominently, giving some indication that they may be possible Wrestlemania feuds.

Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton
Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry vs. The Undertaker
The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry
Rey Mysterio vs. Booker T
Shelton Benjamin vs. Ric Flair
John Cena vs. Edge

So, if you were assume that the WWE has these in mind (which is a big assumption, given their penchant for changing plans), a Wrestlemania card could look something like this.

WWE Title Match
John Cena vs. Edge (c)

World Heavyweight Title Fatal Four Way
The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry

US Title Ladder Match
Booker T (c) vs. Rey Mysterio

Intercontintental Title Match
Ric Flair (c) vs. Shelton Benjamin

Then you've got the potential Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon, the inevitable tag and diva matches, a cruiserweight title match, and we can always hope to see MITB II.

I've got a feeling we could see the WHC match being Kurt Angle v Rey Mysterio v Randy Orton now. That'd be an awesome match aswell.

Lets just hope that Mark Henry is nowhere near the WHC at wrestlemania

Shawn Michaels v either now remember does Vince want this as a one shot deal or ongoing, here is my list and reasons

Rock wont work as heel, crowd will be split
Brock Lesnar Would work and carry plenty of hea
Lex Luger Risky signing is hated though
NWO A signing always risky,

They won't get Luger, hes too old and probably caught up in another jail.

I think we can cross off HBK v Rock for good now. Seems certain that won't happen.

Vince will need to put someone else in now...perhaps Austin? But that's happened before, so who knows.

Apparently HBK is taking time off after Mania, so it will be interesting to see what they do with him.

Id still laugh if he won the Rumble. Thatd be a hell of a swerve.

Apparently Henry vs Taker is set in stone for Mania. And as PARANoIR said, looks like we can cross of Rock vs HBK.

The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels himself has confirmed what reported last month here at SEScoops — that his request for a match with Rock at WrestleMania was denied. In an interview with IGN, Michaels said: "I had mentioned me and Rock because wrestling fans haven't seen it, but he's not interested in doing that."

As has been reported, Rock's rationale for not wrestling HBK is two-fold.

First, The Rock still holds a great deal of resentment towards Michaels for the way he feels Michaels treated him when the two were together in WWE almost a decade ago. Shawn was notorious for being difficult behind the scenes. He is said to have been very rude to The Rock - enough so that Rock still dislikes Shawn a great deal.

Secondly, The Rock has gone on record to say that he does not believe HBK was a big enough star to sell the match as a "dream showdown". Ouch.

HBK certainly doesnt have the star value that he once had.... Good worker still but theres people bigger then him and people that where bigger then him in his hiatus.
