Whilst a shit way to end the season, if someone told me at the start that we would reach 2 finals (one after having to go through Man U, Dortmund and Villareal) I would have laughed in their face.

Heres hoping we make some decent signings over the summer and piss off a lot of the deadwood.

I've tried to be patient with Moreno, but he can go. The guy needs to have defensive senses coached into him and that's just way too hard and time consuming. I was dreading us being too slow to react to Sevilla's second half changes, but really, that had nothing to do with tactics, it was just a loss of nerve. Gameiro scored not because of tactics but because we were still asleep. Then we let their momentum overwhelm us.

Have Liverpool actually come out of the sheds from halftime yet? That is what summed up our second half. Looked like many of them hadn't.

As to Moreno, I think the following opening comment by an ESPNFC columnist in doing his ratings for each of the Liverpool players summed up Moreno today - " The "accident waiting to happen" finally happened."

klopp couldnt even look moreno in the eye at ft when he was going around shaking hands.

the thing is though, apart from a 10-15 min period where we scored, had one disallowed, and looked threatening, we were shithouse for the rest.

coutinho was anonymous, firmino tried hard but nothing came off, milner pissed off everywhere but CM where Can was left to fend on his own.

we deserved to lose, we have no bottle in our side. a 35yo outplayed everyone, that tells you everything.

Still haven't calmed down. Absolutely fuming.

Disappointing that we are letting Kolo Toure walk away when he was one of the only ones who put in a shift.

I hope Coutinho extinguishes his hopes of a big club moved, because he doesn't have the bottle in big games.

I'm hearing he will actually stay. He wants to stay and they can't force him to leave.

That's my criticism of Coutinho, he disappears when the going gets tough. He got that goal against Dortmund but Dortmund weren't exactly trampling us per se and we had nothing else to lose.

Gutted, just absolutely gutted. That's one game I won't ever watch again, the second half performance was just baffling. We've been good in Europe with no fade outs like we do in the League. Of course we had to save it til last. A massive chance blown and boy it's tastes so bloody bitter.

Kolo may be offered a new deal with possible coaching role I heard. couts truly needs to get the consistency down, I can't say he fails in all big games as he's stood up to United in the quarters and games like city in 13/14 when he hit the winner, that shows he can lift when needed. His problem is those performances are few and far between.

Again when the shit starts hitting the fan with us we have no one on the pitch to lift the side and grab the game and take control. I liken it to Easts at the moment in the NRL, we are lacking footballing intelligence and leadership and that's exactly what LFC suffer from the most.

No European football next season sucks but last time that happened we ran second. Looking at the silver lining of this f**king shit ending, all the extra time Klopp will have to prepare the side should benefit us, but so would've the increased $$$ from the UCL.

Here's hoping none of players get injured at the Euros, look forward to next season when Klopp has the deadwood in the squad sold or drowned, whatever gets them away from this side. I think Klopp will look at what he can do better as manager as well as he hasn't been faultless this season. Onwards and upwards and all that jazz.

the one positive about not having any european football is the fact that we don't need to bloat out the squad, so realistically we could see a real hack and slash approach to the summer window.

bring in quality, toss out the trash, use the kids to fill the gaps (you can't let talents like ojo and even ibe to an extent rot just because a dude with an exotic name cost 10mill from a foreign league).

if we do this transfer window correctly, it makes next summers one a lot easier (depressing to think in 2 year timeframes but that's probably where we are at)

Couldn't have said it better. You don't buy squad fillers, you let the youth and academy players show their stuff.
Good thing is I can see Klopp, Buvac and Krawietz doing exactly what you've said. Could easilysee 9-10 going for good or on Loan.

Liverpool have been focusing on trimming down, so yeah one silver lining is that this gives a good excuse to do that. Less chance of injury too.

Wonder what this does to the Gotze link.

Would he come to a club with no European football next season??

Wellll he's apparently been keen even while UCL football was uncertain so who knows. We can just hope that klopp is a big enough lure.

Matip just got named in Bundesliga team of the year, which is promising.

Looks like Karius is a lot closer to being done.

Skrtel will probably go to Turkey.

Our interest in Zielinski has died a little and we're concentrating more effort on Dahoud from Monchengladbach.

Goetze just dumped his agent, which is interesting.

Daily Mail reckon we're interested in Sule but I don't know what to make of that

Skrtel going is such good news, specially with the reports stating he's asked to leave. We're being linked with Sule again but how much truth to it there is who knows.

Also seems Zielinski link is gone and we've moved on to Mahmoud Dahoud of BMG I believe. Know nothing of him at all. Xhaka going to arsenal would see BMG losing 2 CM's in one window.

Also Ben Chilwell could come in from Leicester at LB. would prefer someone ready to go straight into the first team.
