The team needs a huge make over, but make no mistake, he is working with a terrible squad.

And he has had less than 5 sessions with the ENTIRE squad. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Well I wouldn't really call it a terrible squad. Does have a few average players here and there, but it's main problem is that it's unbalanced and that at the moment they're still way too much tuned into the Rodgers way. The areas that are desperately lacking are central midfield and goalkeeper, on an assumption that Migs will continue to be ordinary. We otherwise have very capable defenders (on the most part), and very capable forward attacking players. Despite our unhealthy reliance on him, we look a better team with Sturridge, provides a lot more dynamism up front.

Sometimes judgements are clouded by support of your team.
You have to ask yourself how many players in the squad would you feel gutted about if they left?
There's not too many of the current team that I'd care if they were replaced.
In fact I'd be happy if they left.
Sad but true.

Goalkeeper is fine until next year.

We need LB and RB cover, a new RCB as Skrtel is shit.

A DM a that can beast a midfield and a RW.

We need a new keeper, RCB and boss CM. Migs just isn't good enough, people say he is a good shot stopper but that should be the minimum requirement to become a premiership quality keeper. His distribution and command of his area are garbage and another reason the defence is bad.

We never replaced Xabi as the midfield general and to this day remains one of Rafa's biggest f**k ups. Covetting Gareth Barry and pissing off all so in the process was ridiculous.

Klopp definitely has a lot of work to do, I have complete faith he will get us to where we need to be as well. I wouldn't be bothered one bit if he sold Quite a few of our current squad as well. Skrtel and Lallana would be the first 2 I'd let go and seriously consider saying goodbye to Sturridge as well. Honestly don't think he'll ever be right injury wise.

dude if you had a team with heaps of players that you'd be gutted to see leave, then you're probably fighting for the title.

We also need WIDTH. Adds another dimension to your attack.

I don't care who he sells either, I have trust in what he's doing. If he wants to sell someone like Coutinho, then so be it.

I don't know why, but I didn't even realise until perhaps this season that we need a boss CM on top of a boss DM. I think Kovacic really could have been a good buy. This Neves guy...is he a CM or DM?

Also agree about Lallana. He's an experienced 26 yo yet always conveyed how overawed he was by playing for Liverpool. We need guys who just arrogantly think it's a self prophecy fulfilled, and get on with the job. He doesn't play smart enough.

Exactly.
And that's what I want.
I'm sure most supporters do.
I don't want players that aren't going to get us there.

Couldn't agree more mate, I'm at the point that anyone and everyone in the squad could be sold as long as its klopp's choice. Players like Couts and Sturridge while very good at times are also inconsistent and very injury prone. We need better if we are going to get back to where we want to be.

We need a midfield boss more than anything IMO. Gerrard played that role in 13/14 where he just sat back and picked passes, much lik Xabi used to do for us. I would kill for another Alonso, someone with a football brain and the quality to control a game.

Neves is a CM I believe but from what I've read we are no chance as sides like Chelsea, Madrid and others will be bidding as early as January for him. Don't forget Porto like to ask for massive money for their players. Their academy is one of the best in the world, sure we Ljinders who used to run their academy but we don't have the $$$ those other sides do.

Kovacic would've been great but unfortunately Inter didn't want a bar of us and were always looking for another option to sell him.

Exactly. Unless he's a mercenary, why would he go to the others?

If he were smart he'd go to Liverpool and play under a renowned manager with a great reputation for using his youth.

im only basing it off what has been reported by ed2 mate. Someone asked about neves and LFC weren't even mentioned. Said Chelsea will be going for him in January.

I haven't watched one single second of him so don't even know what he is like. Don't get the mercenary call either. Youngsters these days dream to play for the bigger clubs and unfortunately we aren't one of them at the moment.

Would happily sell Allen, Lallana and a few others to fund the move tho as he seems very highly rated.

He said that Liverpool scouts went to his game at Porto.

They kind of are mercenaries if they go for the money while under the realisation they won't get much game time to develop themselves

I like that team cb. Excited to see both firm and Ben start and get some big minutes under their belts hopefully.

Think we definitely need to see Firmino and Couts get a lot more game time together. Bit of luck they'll bring out the best in each other and keep each other consistent in the process.

Another week and yet again no Sturridge. Just waiting for a club media release that he's back on a plane to the U.S. For further treatment. :roll:

At least they are on top of it. We also have the players to cover for him.

I've been told that if Studge was fit, he would have taken Lallana's spot.
