If it stayed 1-0 under rodgers, it would have been great character to not concede again despite our heads being down. I know this is a pipe dream but I hope they fire Mourinho and hire that guy. But Klopp was a pipe dream too...

It's very easy to forget Benteke is 24. He has been in the league long enough to think he is 28. He has plenty of time to work into a Klopp system. I dont know if that will be as a starter, but an impact sub definitely.
He changed the game. He didn't lose a header and was a legit target man. He took advantage of the long kicks from Mignolet that Firmino couldn't. And I have to say, Migs kicking has improved ten fold.

Skrtle was brilliant. I would have liked him to play on the Costa kick, but that probably saved Lucas a red.

Lucas has been statistically the best DM in the league for the last 3 weeks. I just worry about his legs.
The good part about this transition period for Klopp is there are no excuses.

BR always had excuses. Klopp doesn't.

This is the time to find out who is depth and who is mud. Lucas will be the perfect back up for a beast mode DM.
Can will be the perfect box to box back up.

On the game, I thought it was brilliant. Straight away we conceded and Klopp told everyone to get their head up.
From there, I was confident of getting a draw, to get 3 goals, and very good goals, was a great effort.
And effort is the key. We just look like a new team.

Last few games you can see we are probing trying to unlock teams, it just seemed to click. Firmino and Coutinho are crucial to this.
Firmino needs to play centrally to keep Coutinho and Lallana away from each other.

That would be my front 3 behind the striker up until January. Sorry Milner, but you are mud.

I know we're all very happy with the win and don't want to go to how bad Chelsea were but I haven't seen a Chelsea side turn over that much ball since the Russian bought them.
Every time they looked like opening us up they stuffed it up.
A few deflections helped too but we were in the position to capitalise on that.
We werent really that good but we were better than them.
Left me wondering if we've turned the corner or are they really that bad?
Remember we are getting a few of the harder away games out of the way so we should have a good draw coming home.Dont think we have the right mix to be a contender especially if we don't do some business in January but that was a great result for us.

One other thing.
Skrtel was really good and credit to him but that striker he was marking had to be injured didn't he?
He was the least effective striker we've played against all year.Wasnt stretching out.

Costa was a late inclusion for Chelsea and he passed a late medical test. I think it was his hammy as well as he seems to have problems with them.

Its definitely the weakest I've seen Chelsea in Roman and Jose's reigns but I don't care at all about that. We weren't particularly good first half but we completely dominated that game regardless.

A fully fit Sturridge and Henderson coming into the side will only see us be much more clinical I attack IMO.

Any word on how Studge is progressing with his knee CB? Hendo is due back in 3-4 weeks as well I read yesterday.

Sturridge is back training this week but won't play until after the international break.

We dominated that game. Chelsea had 4 shots on target. Costa was injured with broken ribs, he broke them punching himself in the COC games.

The stats, we dominated, start to finish. Chelsea midfield were belted by Lucas, watch the game again, I have seen it 4 times now and Lucas was incredible.

That Chelsea team isn't weak, it just isn't working for them. Their CB's are off the pace in a bad way and they have no strikers. Remy is shit, Falcao is shit, Costa is fat a fat shit.

Hazard looks like he is hell bent on Madrid. Teams don't care how weak and fragile we are, they just care about the result. That was our most complete performance in a while.

@Saki_LFC: Liverpool likely to strike a deal for the extremely talented attacking midfielder Leroy Sane in January!

Saki is one of the best in the business on twitter. Sane plays left and right side, stretch wide player.
Good piece of business if we can pull that off.

I still want Volland but apparently we have been doing the ground work on Sane. He would cost more than Volland and Werner, but probably has a higher ceiling.

I want Volland for goals. Simple as that. Plus the Firmino link.

we need a strong central midfielder

Completely agree mate.

We need to find a powerful DM capable of linking with Henderson. I really wish we went hard at Kondogbia.

Grzegorz Krychowiak is the other but I can't see Sevilla selling in January, and I can't see us getting him unless we are just outside the 4, or in the CL next year.

Sven Bender is another, but Klopp won't go for him.

The ultimate player for me is Javi Martinez, but I don't think Munich Sell or we get him without CL.

If anyone like podcasts, give the Happy Hour episode 17 a listen. Dave Hendricks is one of the best spotters of talent and he talks about the top 5 players he would like to see in each position.

He also gets my tick of approval as he is a Volland lover.

dm is fine with lucas specialising and can as his deputy, we need someone world class just slightly further up front, eg pogba and yaya. (not happening of course). someone like a 21 year old gerrard would be perfect

I don't think Can is a deputy DM, if anything he's the guy to transform into a powerful midfielder a bit further forward. He just needs to really refine his decision making. He has a terrible habit of dribbling himself into dead-ends because he didn't think about who he was going to pass to.

how many assists does he have? he can't pick a pass either. even his flicks are predictable. he is a powerful runner, but doing a milan baros in midfield will get him no-where. a true cm needs vision of the field. his best roles are dm and fb

He is not a DM and definitely not a fullback. In fact, he is a shit house defender, which is why he should not be a DM.

He is a CM. The point of "how many assists does he have" is f**ken stupid. As a team we don't score and the CM is not the role of leading your assists. There are special cases like Fabregas, but your attacking mids should provide the most assists.

Can is the very definition of a box to box midfielder. Lucas is going good, but his age, and leg injuries worry me. He is the guy you want as a deputy DM.
Can is the guy to back up Henderson.

Dude the guy has zero defensive awareness, I thought his time in the defence has proved enough that he should not be a defensive player. He was only raved about because he had great ball-playing ability from the back.

He's a young player who's spent most of his time here in the back line, so it's not like he's had a lot of opportunity to develop his game in central midfield, so he's going to need time to improve and get his assist tally up.

Once he matures into the role, he will keep his head up more and his vision will much improve.

You can't develop visual awareness you either have it or you don't.

He is strong on the ball, his problem at centre back has been his inexperience with clearing the ball, at dm and FB this isn't such an issue. He has not demonstrated a pass long or short to demonstrate he can advance long term further upfield
