Aside from Craig Bellamy, has Dalglish signed one remotely good player?

Enrique started well but has regressed. Struggling tonight.

The rest are duds. "King Kenny" won't cop deserved criticism because he is a club legend but if I was a Liverpool fan I would be filthy spending so much money on utter garbage.
Enrique has had back problems though and didnt play midweek. Otherwise he's been real good.

for 7 mil Adam hasnt been too bad, not great but not terrible. I reckon Henderson will get there as well.

Downing has been awful, Carroll not much better (shown some improvement in the last couple of weeks).

Suarez? Even if he's a merkin he's a good player

Enrique looks alright for you guys.
Adam has been a good signing. At that money he is a good player.
If Henderson, Downing or Carroll had cost 7 million then you would say they are alright for that money.

But they didn't, they cost roughly £75 million quid. Which is, well, rather a lot.

Henderson does have potential, but whether its the team around him, the price tag or something else he is regressing as a footballer.
You can't even say he is surrounded by better footballers now than he was at Sunderland so he doesn't shine as much because he is next to Spearing, Kuyt and Downing and still looks poor.

The other player you need to think about is Gerrard. His legs have gone and just got outplayed by a guy who is older than him and retired last year. You need to play him as the holding midfielder using his experience and passing from deep, or you need to bench him. He cannot play off a front man or box to box anymore.

I have never heard of guy being second on the table in assists reffered to as terrible.

Check out his pass completion as well. Adam has been a bargain for 7 mil compared to the other purchases we have made.

What other top club would sign him today if they had the chance?

He is a Blackpool level player. Has no business playing for a club with ambitions to play in the Champions League.

You are talking about the EPL right?
Adam is equal sixth for assists.
Adebayor has ten assists in second place - four more than Adam.

More than half of his assists will be from set pieces.

You sum it up yourself though. Compared to the other players you wasted money on he is a bargain. Compared to players like Parker and Arteta he is fckn poor. Good enough for Everton or Aston Villa but not for a team hoping to get back into the top 4.

You buy more players like him and you'll end up just like Everton or Villa.

Spot on.

No top club with high ambitions would be interested in Adam. He is average.

I think he probably could play off a frontman if there was anything behind him, but he cant play off a frontman when Spearing and Henderson is the midfield. I though he played ok on the weekend but was rarely in an attacking position.

He's still getting back to match fitness though, not going to write him off just yet.

Thats fair enough.

He can do one or the other. Just not both. Which unfortunately for him he has to as no one else seems capable at the moment.

Interesting fact out of the Brighton game.
First time Suarez,Carroll and Gerrard have started a game together.
Is that 12 months since we signed them(Carroll and Suarez)?
Found it hard to believe but when I thought about it,it must be correct.

Although its the League Cup I'm pretty excited about tonight's game. A trophy is a trophy in these times!

We can never do it the easy way, can we?

Credit to Cardiff, they managed to take a Top 10 EPL side to penalties. Although if anybody needed further evidence of just how often Carroll squanders a good shot...

They type of game where in a sense, you would rather be playing a premier league team than one from a league below.......especially us Knightmare:roll: Yep, always do it the hard way.

At least something to smile about after the nonsense we have had the last few weeks.

BTW, at the start of the season I was one who was calling for Adam to be the regular penalty taker when we were missing a couple.............maybe not!
