Thought I'd continue with the Barry discussion in this thread(other than the transfer rumours)as it seems to be a Liverpool topic.
Read what Tommy and Lolesi said in the other thread.
I think the attraction of Barry is he can cover a few positions.
I've always thought he was a player who never lets you down. Not a superstar but a player worth a run in any side.
I'd rather Alonso and had actually thought he was gone off to Juve.May yet happen.
On the winger comments couldnt agree more. We've been trying for years to get one.Silva:dont really know how good he is.Looked good at the Euros.Heard comments he is sometimes lazy and selfish.I have no proof of either as I dont watch enough Spannish football. Is young and given Rafa's record with highly ranked young Spaniards I'd certainly like to have him.Albert Riera's name gets a good run in the rumour section too.
On Robbie Keane I'd take him too. He's just signed a 5 year deal with Spurs so I'm not holding my breath on that one but as I said in the other thread I wouldnt completely dismiss it because if Crouch goes he'll be replaced by someone(maybe the annual Henry rumour-I wish).
Heard a few Villa(with Silva mentions) and even an Eto/Ronaldhino rumour.Normally garbage and linked to every club on the planet but a real big signing wouldnt surprise given Rafas success with Torres.
On that attractive football comment above didnt Liverpool score more goals than any other Premier League side last year?(including Cup and European games). Most Champions League goals too or did I get that wrong.? dont care how attractive we are as long as were scoring.

We lacked it last season big time, Benayoun, Pennent and co. just do not cut it. Another striker to go with Torres (Keane would be decent).

We looked to have signed Andrea Dossena, a left back from Udinese, i have never seen him play, maybe hybrid could tell us something about him? Couldnt be any worst then Riise, so thats a positive!

liverpool are a scummy franchise (not even a club anymore) designed to fleece iditoic fans from places like Norway and frigging Australia.

The few Liverpool fans from the city actually hate the plastic fans and wish they would leave their club alone!!!

Diego Cavilieri...

Good signing for you blokes, promising young keeper. Should do well. Don't knock back to possibility of him pipping Reina to first-choice. Also got a hot gf.

Pre Season Game 2.
Still no Finnan,Carson or Pennant.(and the Euro 2008 players).Got to think all will be sold to fund transfers.
Rafa did want all the new boys in for the Swss training camp but it obviousy hasnt happened.
You wouldnt think it would be too long until a new player or two are announced.
Oh and we won the game 2-1(Lucas and Voronin scored)but again who cares?

Pennant and Finnan are supposed to be injured.
Kuyt did have a hit out(first of the Euro players) whilst Babel who missed Euro(injury) had a run.
Gerrard(slight injury) and Dossena (international clearance)didnt play at all.

Scott Carson will no longer be heading towards Stoke as Stoke are for some reason unavailable to complete the transfer. But as Freidel seems to be heading to Villa, Carson and Cudicini are being more closely monitored by the Rovers.

Carsons sold to West Brom for 3.25 million.
A bit different to the 10 million Rafa wanted from Villa.
Then again O'Neil wants 18 million for Barry and is more of a chance of getting it.
Rafa's been reported to the Premier League for comments on wanting Keane. Is it Spurs covering their own backs or are they just telling Liverpool to go jump?

the complaint was genuine, but being one of the big 4, they'll get away with it

this from another forum

A Premier League spokesman tonight said: "We confirm we have received complaints from Tottenham in relation to alleged breaches of Premier League Rules K3 and K8, which govern approaches to contracted players.

"The Premier League board will now write to the parties concerned to ask for their observations before considering the appropriate course of action."

United have issued a brief response to Tottenham's claims.

A spokesman said: “We are aware of the allegation and will co-operate with the Premier League as necessary.”

So what are Premier League Rules K3 and K8,?

K3 The FA may publish information relating to Representation Contracts between
Authorised Agents and their clients such as the identity of the relevant parties to the
contract (Authorised Agents, Players and Clubs). As a general rule, The FA will not
publish any details over and above those set out here without the consent of the
parties to a particular contract
or FIFA

K8 Where appropriate, The FA may refer certain matters in connection with the
Regulations to another National Association and/or FIFA for resolution. This will
generally only apply where a Club, Player or Agent involved in the matter is subject to
the jurisdiction of the other National Association and/or FIFA.

Spurs reported both Manure and Pool

that aside, I believe Keane will go the the Scousers for 18mill in the next few days

Latest friendly result was 0-0.Voronin missed a penalty. The entire team was changed at half time.(from 1 report anyway).Only 9 subs named so how did they do that?
Mascherano played his first full 90 minutes of the year so he must of been the odd one out.The 4 Spaniards(who return to training on Friday)didnt play.(either did Gerrard-must be resting him with the Inter Milan bid in mind-yeh right).
