the culture there now is to focus on the CL, this is why you see them underperforming in the EPL every year.

Rafa needs to go after this season so someone can come in and bring a balance.

Liverpool should be relegated for being scumbags.
Seriously f**k off jdizzle, you've shown on various boards to be a merkin so stay out of this thread

Disgusting performance from the sounds of things

The problem with Rafa is he's had a net spend with his time here of more than Manure and less than Chelski but not by much - too many 'bargain' buys in there. To be fair to him he had a really sh*t squad to try and overhaul, and the squad has definately improved, compared to Manure who already had a good side and only need 1 or 2 players each season. But there has been so much rubbish amongst the good buys (torres, alonso, Agger, Skrtal, Mascherano, Reina).

What a woeful side he put out this morning tho. El Zhar ffs!

But surely it doesn't help his image when he does have some of that squad strength (Keane) only to get rid of him by treating him like sh*t.

Because again, apparently Kuyt and Ngog are better out and out strikers.
the amount of strikers liverpool have gone through in the past few years is amazing, just off the top of my head:
Owen
Diouf
Heskey
Crouch
Bellamy
Keane
Vorinin
Fowler

Over the same period Man Utd have gone through RVN and Saha decisions that were due to age as much as anything

Yes but you have spent big on good strikers, as opposed to that list. From that

Owen left of his own accord really
diouf - sh*t buy
Heskey i dont think was too bad but not a great buy
crouch ditto, not given oppertunities
bellamy was a sh*tter but we got a profit
Keane - nuff said
Voronin and Fowler V2 were frees

And RVN probably had something to do with him and ronaldo not getting along also.

Keano would be loving this, we should never have sold him without replacing him. Another year gone, another title race lost before we get close to the end of the season.

Benitez has spent plenty in his attempt to strengthen his squad over the years. need to stop making excuses for him.

it is also how you use it, something that differentiates the good from the best. the strong squad didn't help Grant or Scolari at Chelsea.

I agree with that second line. Chelsea are a classic example of having the money but not the spirit. Liverpool, on the other hand, have the spirit but not the playing roster of Chel$ki or ManUre. When Rafa has that and still can't win the EPL, then maybe it's time to look for a new manager. Until then, however, Rafa needs to be given the same control over the team that Sire Alex and Arsene have.

Chelsea did okay under Grant despite him, not because of him

Neither Grant nor Scolari were doing the job, so we did something about it

That's the difference between Chelsea and Liverpool

I disagree. We've been poor but the spirit is what is keeping us so high on the table. We shouldn't have won against Stoke or Wigan (amongst others) but despite poor form we fought and came out on top. And we fought mighty hard at the end of the last campaign (2nd spot, CL final).

Chelsea is a quality team with great spirit but we've had poor discipline and our managers haven't helped much. Plus we hardly spend any f**king money anymore.

The place needs stability. And they need to let whoever the manager is (Guus at this point in time) have full control in the running of the club. It's what Arsehole and ManUre have granted Arsene and Sir Alex respectively, and its' no surprise they have had such success in the domestic league. I am hoping that the Liverpool board grant Rafa the same control.

Early in the second half against Sunderland.Ngog scored for us to lead 1-0.Mascherano is playing Right Back.
Gets more interesting by the day.

Benayoun just got our second.Insua and Mascherano must be the worlds smallest fullbacks.Anyway looks like we'll get the points here.
