1 from 2 against the relegation battlers: not bad.

Edit: Well there you go, when did Sunderland move up to mid-table? Egg on my face anyway. :D

Everyone from Bolton (11th) down is still in a relegation battle in my opinion.

It was good to win a home game v a struggler and good to have the game wrapped up and not chasing a goal right at the end for a win. Boxing day was the last time they won comfortably at Anfield.

Funny you say that. I've met many a Scouse Liverpool fan (including a friend of mine from Primary school who came from there with his family and were all Reds fans) but I am yet to meet a Scouse Evertonian.

I am a genuine Scouse Evertonian. Born in Walton & lived in Walton - 5 min walk from Goodison Park. Can't get any more Everton than that.

There is also my brother who lives in Sydney. There was my father but he has since moved on to greener pastures.

So should you ever happen to meet me or my brother you will have had the pleasure of meeting two true blue Scousers - perhaps the only two in Sydney. The accent has all but gone now however.

What does Y.N.W.A mean - you'll never win anything again? ;-)

You'll Never Walk Alone. No matter whether we are winning the League and the ECL, or struggling in the relegation zone, there will always be someone beside you with the same passion.

Could you apply that statement to the majority of ManUre fans worldwide these days? Or even the new brigade of Chel$ki supporters? Nothing to do with Merseyside I know, but a pertinent thought...

I do know what Y.N.W.A stands for! I have been in the Kop (old & new) when it was sung. There was something about the way the original Kop was built, the singing would reverberate around the ground.

Success breeds popularity. There’s always going to be the bandwagon brigade. No one gave a rat’s arse about Chelsea 15 yrs ago, look at Leeds today, they were huge when I was a kid. In the same era Man Citeh were as popular as ManUre, Main Rd was a bigger ground than Old Trafford.

When we moved to Australia I met guys who followed Citeh, Villa, Arsenal, Derby, Wolves, West Ham, Southampton, Brighton, etc. You don’t find that same kind of even spread today. ManUre & Chelski were nothing special. Unfortunately Liverpool were obviously popular.

Money = success = support. The game wasn’t dominated by the rich few years ago; success was more evenly distributed & hence so were the supporters.

Everton need money. Maybe we could have a whip-round.

We probably won't go 25 years without winning the League. Probably won't get relegated in that time either
success for a Liverpool fan these days... not winning the title in the next 25 years... but not being relegated...

Success for a Liverpool fan these days- winning silverware. Same as it's always been. 15 years from now, success for ManUre will be staying up  That and convincing the people in London to renew their season tickets to OT.

People from London renewing their season tickets for OT.

Now there's the kettle calling the pot black.

Do you seriously know anything about the club you follow? Do you have any idea how many people crawl into Anfield from Ireland, Scandinavia & the Home Counties?

You have probably never been to Anfield or haven’t been there for a long time. I would guess it to be the former rather than the latter.
