I have no doubt that some of our fans on match-day come from further afield, but my original point was that I am pretty certain they would still turn up if the side was going crap.

What's a mystery to me is that Everton call themselves 'The people's team' yet can't sell half or even quarter-season tickets to Goodison? You'd think there'd be enough Toffes in Merseyside and the surrounds to pack the place out every game. :?

Is that why the club has been pushing for a new 55 000 – 60 000 capacity stadium in Kirby? I guess it must be to hold 50 000 travelling away fans

It is to football's deteriment that those scenarios are penalties - striker toes the ball ahead but out of reach knowing the keeper is about to make contact.

Reina didn't prevent any goalscoring opportunity there, but under the laws of the game it's a clear penalty. For shame.
