What difference does that make? Ye kept pace with the favorite, she was in 2nd place until the final 100m and 1.7 seconds below world record time at the 300m split. Then she swam the final 100 as fast as Lochte and won by a mile. I couldn't care less about her age or nationality. To me, for someone to be able to pick up the pace so dramatically after a mediocre first 300 is a little bit sus.

China devote millions of dollars and thousands of hours on their Olympic athletes, usually finding them when they're at primary school and putting them through a very rigorous training system from then on. One thing the government doesn't want is a repeat of what happened in 1998-2000 as it makes them lose face.

No one is saying she is not a world class athlete. that is beyond question. Its whether or not she is the worlds best athlete for her sport, which we have a right to question.

He performance in the pool is similar to a 100m runner who'd never broken 10 seconds before suddenly blitzing the field and breaking the world record. It would be very suspect to all parties as so should this be, especially when it involves a nation with a long history of sanctioned drug cheating

According to Wiki she had a time of 4.33.79 at the 2010 Asian championships, so its a 5.3 second improvement on that time in 20 months whilst aging 14 to 16 years...
