my main genre of interest is hip hop ... though, real hip hop, not the f**king 50cent sh*t you see/hear on the radio, the complete opposite of that sh*t ... i like metal and classic rock too, black sabbath, cream, pink floyd, ac/dc etc... mostly 60s/70s/80s ... stuff my dad listens to that i grew up on as a kid ... also like house music/jazz/swing/big band/blues

Classic hard rock, that's what music is. It combines various talents into one and the end result is a band like Led Zepplin or Van Halen. These bands whilst not appealing to the majority have still sold 80million+ albums, a sign of a true great band to generate such sales.

Yeeah - Heavy Metal!!! :music1:

Alhough I wouldn't necessarily claim to be a fan of Anthrax, Machine head or Napalm Death. I guess Death Metal's my main game.

Having said that, I have a remarkably weird taste in music that encompasses Classical, 70s / 80s / 90s pop, barbershop, new age, prog rock, some rap and some electronica.

I'm into a bit of everything. But my favourite genres are metal (and all its sub-genres), metalcore, hardcore, grindcore, mathcore, etc.

This ought to be a multi choice poll.

But i'd say rock. And well made Pop - eg Beatles, not Spice Girls etc

Metal yes but not hardcore and all that crap.

Prefer Black and Death metal ideally - Immortal, Burzum, Dark Tranquility, November's Doom, Opeth, SYL, Nile, Amon Amarth etc.

But also jazz and anything with a jazz feel like Dave Mathews Band, Sting etc. If the musicians are freaks I'll listen to it.

I'm gonna buck the trend here and say pop, with honourable mentions to pop rock and dance pop.

I would have to say hip hop is my favourite genre, especially early 90's new york stuff, groups like KMD, A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock & C.L Smooth, Hard To Obtain (i could go on all day about groups and artists i like, so i'll stop now). But also alot of the Aussie hip hop thats being released now, Koolism especially.

Im pretty much open to anything though, i like breaks and some techno/trance, rock, i used to listen to heaps of punk in my early teens.

I only really dislike a few genres, i hate death metal, groups that are way past it and just go pop (e.g, rhcp, where is funky monkey these days anyway, lol), 50cent & eminem etc (its not hip hop, its pop), im am also not a fan of that soft ballad pussy rock crap.
