Despite the fact that you're wrong, 20 points should be enough to win us games. Our point scoring ability didn't let us down today.

Sorry, forgot the Hilder try.

We just looked clueless in attack today. Didn't seem to have a plan or anything.

That is exactly it. Why he persists with trying to catch the ball with out-stretched arms above his head is beyond me.

He's been watching too many Melbourne games.

And it's not as though he is putting down difficult chances- every time he is put under the high ball he looks to have no idea on what he needs to be doing. What has Brian Smith had him doing whilst training with first grade for the last 3 years??

I think the players were too tired from constantly defending their line after turning over the ball cheaply. they'd get the ball and try to make easy yards by throwing unnecessary passes and putting team mates under pressure. What is it with props throwing stupid passes when their team is trying to work their way deep out of their own half? You put Cross under pressure and he seems to came up with stupid mistakes more often than not.

i agree. attitude was by far the biggest killer for us this week. hopefully they all got a big f**king reality check from the game.. because they need to aim up much more than that. we only had 1 game last year where we had an attitude that poor.

however, the halves were diabolical today too. when they got their chances, they squandered them terribly. mullen played as a 5/8th from a halfbacks position. barely distributed any ball at all. rogers... well i don't have words for rogers. worst game from a half in knights colours since sean rudder.. or you may even need to go further back than that.

I didn't see the game as I was playing cricket, but if he played like rudder did at halfback in 2001, then hell, Rogers has to be out of the team next week!

I will note, if it wasn't for simmo's rep, my pack would be

8. cross
9. de gois
10 tolar
11 houso
12 pato
13 taia

14 hilder
15 faas
16 taufua
17 ciraldo

i thought he had the worst game i have seen from him in a very long time. "looks very very old" was being kind. I think this will be his last year for us.

i'm as angry as the next knights fan (and i mean angry!) but i think its too early to start talking about dropping guys like simo, de gois and mcmanus. yeah sure they had shockas but they've shown great consistency in the past. particularly mcmanus had terrible handling but ive never seen that from him in the past. that said it seemed like rogers wasnt even playing, until he f**ked up... and i really think, as most others do, we need dureau at 7 and mullo at 6. mullo tried hard but not as a 7.

maddog

I agree. Dropping seasoned quality players after performing badly in the first game of the season is silly.

That's they key thing, I agree. He is usually much, much more... Uh, solid.

I still think Uate is worth keeping in the team. Though I struggle to see why he has so much god damn difficulty in catching, Pika, don't they bomb to him at training or something?

To be honest, I'd LOVE to keep Uate in the team so he gets a chance to mature as a player and hopefully develop the skills he needs, but the fact is he should atleast be able to catch a ball and no when to and when not to come in off his wing. I swear at one stage I saw him run 20m infield to put a hit on that completely missed the player. The way I see it is that while he may be an attacking sensation, he doesnt score enough to points to justify the ones he lets in.

Burwood- if we give Rogers another 3-4 weeks we will probably have the worst kicking record in history inside the first five rounds.

ROUND ONE INJURIES

2009-03-15

Injuries from Sunday’s Round 1 match against the Titans are;

Daniel Tolar

Right knee

Possible Cartilage Deficit behind knee cap

MRI Scan required to determine extent of injury

Steve Simpson

Stitches above right eye

No further scans required

.
Don'y know what Cartliage deficit means but sure doesn't sound real good.

I haven't seen him playing much recently, and I have no idea if he is up to the same standard he was at South Sydney a few years ago, but I maintain that if Luke MacDougal is fully fit and healthy and at his best, he would surely have to be one of the first wingers chosen in the Knights team...

What is the latest on mad pup?

Still injured?

Just plain ordinary?

I'd have the South Sydney version of Mad Pup in my Knights team in front of any other winger in the club.

But if his standard has dropped off substantially then so be it...

Are my eyes deceiving me JD?

What you HOPE it to be, or what you THINK it will be?

Smiths comments in the Herald suggested he was going to give it a few more weeks to blossom.
 No they're not deceiving you. It's what I think it will be.

According to today's Herald they expect Smith to stick with Rogers and Mullen for at least another week, so I'd say JD's team could very well be on the money, although with De Gois and Hilder swapped around.

Also I agree with Karma re. Madpup. When fit and firing he would be a better option on the wing outside Maddog.
