Martyn played a whole 2 years of boring selfish not to mention crap cricket and kept his spot long enough to redeem himself. I think Clarke at least deserves another opportunity considering the amount of time Martyn got to prove himself.

Small difference...even during Martyn's lean period he was still averaging well despite not getting the hundreds. Clarke has had a number of opportunities, not to mention playing the West Indies with one of the worst attacks ever at home and failing dismally! You want a batsman fine, give Jaques a go!

Unfortunately there are no stats for wickets taken by the guy at the other end when Bracken has been bowling, but I'm willing to bet they are decent stats. Batsmen struggle to score off Bracken so they try things against the "less risky" bowler and get out, it's not rocket science.

He has improved since then, but he has had a lot of time to make that improvement.

A record counts for something, but does it make up for TWO YEARS of failure? Not to mention nothing much since? Surely even you aren't that stupid...Clarke has 30 odd Tests and a truckload of potential, yet it's ok to stick with a struggling has been in Martyn when Clarke has done no worse than Marto in that period...LMAO!
