OK, cheers for the info... I can live with that for 3 games a week I guess if it saves me forking out for Foxtel. Who knows, maybe that will change in 2017 anyway now that Fox has the simulcast which only came in to effect on the fly last season...

I moved house mid way through the 2016 season and didn't bother getting Foxtel connected at the new place. I've been thinking about what to do for season 2017 and I think I'll go with the NRL Digital Pass too and just watch the games on my laptop or iPad...

No. if it is a Nine game you'll get their coverage and Fox if it is theirs.

It's a direct result of Fox bullying the NRL in to it and I don't see how it's going to help games or coverage. doesn't affect me directly as I don't think theres any 6pm home games for Melbourne yet but its going to look shit on tele if people don't make it from work in time .

it depends what Fox are offering in terms of money and also what exactly she would be doing compared to what she does now on 9

with a 24x7 dedicated Rugby League channel i'd say Fox would have more options that she might find appealing

FOX Sports has scored a massive coup, stealing popular sports reporter Yvonne Sampson from Channel Nine.

Following weeks of negotiations with Fox Sports bosses Patrick Delany and Steve Crawley, Sampson officially signed with the subscription TV giant, with execs understood to have been impressed with the 35-year-old’s on-air presence and immense knowledge of the NRL.

The multi-year deal comes as Fox is set to launch its dedicated 24-hour NRL channel in 2017 and will see Sampson work alongside the network’s current NRL team of Lara Pitt, Matt Johns, Nathan Hindmarsh and Gorden Tallis.

For the past two years, Sampson has been front and centre of Nine’s Rugby League coverage, fronting Friday Night Football, the Sunday Footy Show and the State of Origin.

Sampson’s switch to Fox Sports comes after the revelation of a massive pay discrepancy between female and male sports reporters at the Nine Network.

It was also revealed that female sports talent have been expected to work for “free” outside their contracted duties and fly economy while their male counterparts were treated to business class seats.
