He went under an attempted fend, took the best option open to him given the circumstances. I thought the winger dropped it anyway.

I think the winger dropped it too and I also thought MacDonald was more at fault than Lomax. Still he had a good game overall and it was far from a missed tackle. Just being picky.

Pity he didn't score off the Hunt kick, he did well to anticipate it. Defence was solid and an 18 year old kicking like that was a bonus. It's pretty amazing how often some posters can write off young guys coming into the team after one or two games. Bradman would have been dropped after his first two tests if some of our posters had been selectors, and Blacklock would not have played another first grade game after the horror handling game he had in his initial first grade run for the club. Lomax will not be the Bradman of league and he is not as fast as Blacklock was, but a career usually extends beyond one game. I think he will be good for us. Calm down boys.

One thing about that try Dufty scored if Aitken was playing he would not have pass it to Dufty.
Lomax has only been back playing after the injury to his hand. So probably not 100% match fit.
He will take time to get to first grade fitness.

After a full off-season under a new top line coach will do Lomax the world of good. I liked what I saw even with the limitations his injured hand gave him. I liked his goal kicking, his passing and his positioning in defence. Mary's compressed defensive plan would be a challenge for all outside backs.

Jeepers people everybody on here complains on a weekly basis( rightly so) about the lack of youngsters being used.
He was good. After only seeing the 2nd half of the game I liked what I saw from him, defence was good, looked composed plus he’s a kicker as well. Not sure of his speed, however as someone else pointed out, his pass to Dufty was the right decision. Needs to keep his spot next week imo.

He needs to be there next we and next year , the kids first real game and played well , how people can knock him is beyond me . He played with a team that is really down on confidence and went well . He will only get better .

Are people blind? He’s 18, he missed zero tackles, dropped two awkward bounces, had the awareness to pass to Dufty on the break and converted a few beauties from the sideline. What the hell else does he have to do?
Stand down for our star centre Aitken to return of course.
Same with JP for Nighty.
