Euie still very much our premier centre but exciting timings ahead with these 2 in the centres for many years. Potential 8 year blues pairing

Agree lomax and Atken will be our centre pairing for years to come.
Both are a long way off the blues but hope you are right

Well, if Aitken is our premier centre we are truly in trouble. Can’t defend and can’t pass the ball.

Maybe a better coach would help him fix that but right now I’ve grown tired of his shortcomings.

I agree but if he hasn't learnt to pass by now it's safe to say it's over

My crystal ball says that Lomax will be our fullback and Aitken and Lafai will be gone at contracts end if not before.
We need a fullback and wingers who can catch bombs to be a premiership threat. I like Dufty in the free running perspective but his butter fingers and letting bombs bounce is unacceptable. Brisbane will bomb Dufty all night at suncorp.
I would put Widdop at fullback who is an excellent defender and catcher of bombs and Hunt no.7 and Mann no. 6

Pity he didn't score off the Hunt kick, he did well to anticipate it. Defence was solid and an 18 year old kicking like that was a bonus. It's pretty amazing how often some posters can write off young guys coming into the team after one or two games. Bradman would have been dropped after his first two tests if some of our posters had been selectors, and Blacklock would not have played another first grade game after the horror handling game he had in his initial first grade run for the club. Lomax will not be the Bradman of league and he is not as fast as Blacklock was, but a career usually extends beyond one game. I think he will be good for us. Calm down boys.

He was wasn't he !!!

Was in Canberra this weekend and have only just watched the replay.

Felt he actually played very well. Due to his recent injury he is not at peak fitness.

His tackling technique is very good.

His positional play is excellent, as he is always trying to back up the ball carrier.

One of his disallowed tries was a try in my opinion.

He missed a kick from in front but kicked 2 beauties from the sideline. So he from what I can see he is an excellent back up goal kicker who may improve to become the FG Goal Kicker.

His kickoffs are far superior to anyone we currently have in FG.

He has a good passing game.

It is clear from watching him that he has a high footy IQ. He is a work in progress, and will blossom if given time in FG. Has a much higher ceiling than either of our current FG Centers.

Remember the last time Aitken came back from a hamstring injury, I think he lasted all of ten minutes. Don’t play him.

I noticed that too (about his kick offs).

Perfect.

Widdop’s are often too short, and usually allow the opposition to take its first tackle outside the 20 metre area.
