So you want to go into games relying on the boot of Jack Bird. Would he be a walk-up kicker at any other club.
Bud might be in the NRL roster, but he doesn't get selected, so until the NRL adopts a rule where you can run on a specialist goal-kicker his talents are wasted.
My point is that most clubs have two first grade standard kickers in their 17.
For example, the Knights have Ponga and Clifford. The Storm have Papenhuyzen and Meaney. Souffs have Taafe, Nikorima and Mitchell.
Total f#cking over-reaction.
The Dragons have Lomax, Bird, and Sullivan.

Might need to face reality by being dropped to NSW Cup. Does he have the hunger to fight for his spot? Time will tell.
I feel sorry for Sloan languishing in the KOE. Unlike Tyrell, Lomax can have brain fades and stuff ups safe in the knowledge that he's one of Hook's favourites and won't be dropped. Hook would prefer to promote the very ordinary and slow Moga onto the wing than bring back Sloan. And Sloan isn't a bad goal kicker.

Agreed, Moga isn't a winger. Only a centre.

Top Gun is back in cinemas. Zac Lomax is the current embodiment of a man whose ego is writing cheques that his body can't cash. He thinks he's a Gene Miles or Mark Gasnier... but he just looks like a Goose
Well it took some time and many comments, but we have a winner. This is the stupidest most inane comment so far. So tell us wise sage. Your sporting highlights compared to Zac's consisted of..........? Communal nose picking competitions not withstanding.

Not sure how this is relevant... but I once performed a 4G inverted dive with a MiG-28, at a range of 2 metres

I think Lomax needs a stint in reserves, but bringing back Sloan isn’t the answer either. I suggest you watch the match highlights of our most recent NSW cup game. Sloan’s weak defence gifted the opposition 4 tries. That isn’t acceptable and frankly just isn’t first grade standard. I do hope he can improve on this and become an out and out first grader but he’s not there right now.

Because Ramsey luckily has shown signs of much improvement following his return from injury, Sloan has a big job of getting the first grade full back position back. His chances of playing first grade even as a winger won't be high as we have a couple who are decent enough to hold onto the spots.

Sloan is becoming a puzzle to me. Sullivan will get more chances than Sloan I think. But getting back to Lomax. Definitely needs to be put into a different position - edge forward or lock. We might have to go out and get a strong and quick centre from elsewhere.

If Lomax is in first grade personally I’d shift him to the wing. This gives Mat Feagai the chance to show what he can do in his preferred position at centre. I think Feagai deserves the shot there as he’s been very very good for such a young player on the wing. The issue with Lomax on the wing though is obviously a lack of speed, but he does have the strength for carries out of the backfield. He’s also a target for kicks out to the wing, something we don’t currently have. That is, if he can get his hands right as I haven’t seen him pluck a kick from mid air all year. His attitude bugs me too… going off him a bit really

Just watched it - thanks for reminding me!!! Would have loved to see the whole game. But you are right, based on those highlights, I wouldn't be letting him anywhere near first grade.

I’m hoping that Lomax has a blinder tomorrow night and serves up a nice big shit burger for people on here to feast on. Yes he makes mistakes, yes the no look flick pass needs to be put away for the rare occasion but the kid has heart, busts his guts week in week out. All this crazy talk of him being dropped to reserve grade is total baloney. Hopefully with Rava back tomorrow night Zac might just settle into a nice rhythm with the beast outside him

Everyone hopes he has a blinder every week but it never happens. Won't happen tomorrow night either. When's he ever put in a MoM performance. Any time he does something good it's overshadowed by the crap he dishes up five minutes later. If he wasn't our first pick goal kicker he'd be in Reserves and Matt Feagai would get a shot.

Respectfully disagree. He’s no reserve grader just needs to play the percentages game and focus on locking up the ball and running hard. Was doing that a few weeks back and looking good. Gone off the boil at times recently, yes, but he’s a good one once he minimises the high risk stuff and focuses on the task at hand. He’s missed Rava outside him recently
