Lomax to lock - last chance - he is too easy to defend at centre & needs game involvement to shine. Has the propensity to do something "special" due to limited opportunity out wide.
I have been pushing that barrow for a season or more.
He is Brad Clyde in waiting.
He is naturally aggressive, extremely strong, can defend head on and is the right body shape for the new look locks of today.

Right now we don't need a lock but we do need a halfback to manage a game, we do need a more speedy hooker, we do need someone to replace Sims for 2023 and we most definitely need a bunch of good props of which one of whom should be at SOO level.

Zac is becoming an enigma. He has talent, I have no doubt about that, but drops his lollies at the slightest misfortune in a game.

IMO only, his days as a centre are quickly diminishing and a trip into the forwards, particularly the edge, will be his destiny, mirroring somewhat Ben Creagh. I think the sooner this happens the better. He's a good defender, and edge is a position we are suffering in missed tackles, but it would mean a transition from the right to the left which may take some getting used to, and I absolutely wouldn't be shifting Sua.

In my opinion, Lomax has many years left in him as a center. His problems are all to do with attitude right now and so, my suggestion is to appoint Matt Cooper as his mentor/coach.

A move to the forwards is what I would like to see

He is not fast enough or elusive enough to play centre

His goal kicking has kept him in the side this season.

don't make comments if you don't know the full picture. Bud can goal kick and did throughout juniors, so too can bird at a pinch
So you want to go into games relying on the boot of Jack Bird. Would he be a walk-up kicker at any other club.
Bud might be in the NRL roster, but he doesn't get selected, so until the NRL adopts a rule where you can run on a specialist goal-kicker his talents are wasted.
My point is that most clubs have two first grade standard kickers in their 17.
For example, the Knights have Ponga and Clifford. The Storm have Papenhuyzen and Meaney. Souffs have Taafe, Nikorima and Mitchell.
Total f#cking over-reaction.

We have absolutely no shape in attack you can’t blame Zac for that, he rarely gets the ball with any room to move. Sure he loves the risky flick pass but that’s just because he’s trying to make things happen.

We have much deeper problems than Zac Lomax

Comments like this are a bit rare around here lately. Its called stating the bleeding obvious and common sense. Good post!! Let's see what team selection Hook comes up with against the bunnies. More of the same or being bold.
