Zac Lomax

I just think Zac has been over compensating for what an average team we have become … trying to create something out of nothing all the time and not playing smart. I think he’d go up a gear in that company and be a potential match winner
I think you are 100% correct. He often tries to create something out of nothing & give Ravalawa the chance to do something special just like the Souths game.

I got the impression from a Fletch & Hindy interview earlier this year he doesn’t have the greatest respect for Griffin, I’m sure the coach wouldn’t be happy with all the no look flick passes but he keeps doing it.

Good to see the commitment from Zac to chase that massive bomb. Much improved performance tonight.
Yes- Lomax did play well although some of his plays were hail mary 50/50 options and might not work out next week. It's amazing what the faith of your coach can do to your confidence. He was picked despite a horror performance the week before and indifferent form in weeks before that.

And there's the problem. Hook doesn't show that faith in talented players consistently. Even Lachlan Ilias when hooked by Demetriou was reassured that he would be selected for the next round. Not so Sloane.

I'd say Lomax is a very good center playing below his capacity. It seems to me he lacks the discipline needed to be a great player.

Early on, Lomax seemed to have superior skills when jumping for and gathering the high ball off Hunt / Norman kicks. These days he seems to knock more of such kicks forward than taking them and doing something with them.

With some individual coaching and guidance, I think Lomax could be up with the best centers in the competition.

Yeah, because it's so easy to catch a high ball when 3 other blokes are trying to do the same. 😶

Why is it whenever he scores a good try he causes another three?
Reminds me of a certain player we finally pulled the pin on and sent to the Dogs.

His experience hasn't made him a better player. Granted he is strong and a good kick at goal but he really was influential in leading to our demise today with stupid choices in attack and poor defence. It is now a trend and not one we can afford anymore.

If he isn't going to improve his discipline then maybe a tough decision needs to be made.

Having said that, we have problems all over the park and we don't have a coach who is urgent in doing anything about it so we are screwed with or without him.

Luckily money talks and contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on.

I don't think moving him on would be an issue. The truth is a Storm or Roosters would make him a gun player in all likelihood but if he doesn't receive an almighty spray this week in the review then we are submitting to what is guaranteed loser brand of footy. Theres no way he was attentive to the coach's half time message.

We were a few dumb plays away from winning today despite what the scoreline says.

He’s just dreadful. One of the main issues is he seems to think he’s fantastic. I would be doing everything I can to move him on. He takes up way too much of the salary cap for a player of his calibre. He’s an overhyped backup centre at best and maybe he’ll reach his potential elsewhere, but I don’t see him reaching those heights whilst in his comfort zone. Mat Feagai to centre, Lomax to wing or second grade (preferably the latter)

We were winning that game on the back of completion rate.

We go down to 12 players he does the same thing we see each week with about 1 in 10 that actually come off.

That's inexcusable and simply not in the interests of the team who were in it up to their ears until then.

Went on to miss a few tackles and just completely fade out of the game. When you consider his pay packet he deserves a spell or a good rocket at the very least, and for his flick licence to be taken away.

Sloane has a bad game and gets dropped to the Reggies to learn. Shame it’s not a rule across the board.

The thing is with Lomax flick passes is they used to come off. They arent working anymore and certainly do not do them when we have one man in the bin. Ill play devils advocate here and ask the question - can the team work on a combination where they actually turn into a try? They used to turn into tries. From memory the flicks were to Rav or Dufty.
