I sure hope this does not mean Aitken at 3.

I think at the Storm he would be judged by his ability not by his name. So far I haven't seen too much from him that deserves the wraps put on him by some. He showed some potential but size is his issue, too small for a centre and seems to look like he fits the STGI fullback mould....Dufty, Field, Sailor etc etc. I think his long term position will be in the halves but he will run into a brick wall there with Norman and Hunt there. I think he is a NRL player, no doubt about it, but a superstar...meh. I hope we get to see his development beyond 2020 but I am fairly sure he will be Broncos bound.
One wonders why Dufty was extended early last season. There does not seem to be a plan for him to be anything but a handy replacement if the fullback becomes unavailable. Dufty, Aitken and Lafai are poor signings. Sailor could very well fit into the same category if he is extended.

It is time to find a replacement for Millward or dare I say, he might have his good eye on the CEO position. It only needs the nod from daddy Bob and of course the quid pro quo required by elements of the old boys club.

Not if you see the CEO Job Criteria like I have in my possession. And if it goes to someone like Millward which it wont then it is a rort cause you need to have experience in a similar role, similar size organisation understanding the media and rugby league.
It also mentions fans / supporter engagement and understanding through media obligations to the community etc.
That must be a new KPI thrown in this time because never before as any CEO of this club ever achieved that.
The job will be available to about 20 people in this country. All current NRL CEO's or ex or sacked NRL CEO's out there looking for a job....or maybe GUS Gould...although he would not want it. EOI close about 18th December. So we wont know till February when BJ leaves who will take over

Happy to attach the job description in here I have in PDF format for those that want a look or apply.
Someone just needs to tell me how I get a PDF document attachment in here

Na..and in all honesty he is next to no chance based on the criteria and experience needed.
If he does....I will send the job description to the media and ask for a please explain from our club.

I'd say that positions like the head coach and the Recruitment/pathways/retention Director would have KPI's that have not been met each year for years. At SGI it does not matter what is on payer because the current ocupants of positions such as the Head Coach and Recruitment/pathways/retention Director don't seem to know what they are dong, making many mistakes and still hold their jobs.

So based on the criteria and experience needed, can Mary and Millward justify their appointment and subsequent extensions of employment in their current positions?

I'd say that is a BOD problem and the new CEO's

Sorry, I am referring to Mary's role as head coach and Millwards role as the Director of everything. Both have failed miserably without being held accountable.

Lomax and Mitchell want to play fullback... so why does everybody want to wear the No.1 jersey?

Zac Lomax and Latrell Mitchell have both expressed a desire to play fullbackSource: FOX SPORTS
Latrell Mitchell wants to move from being one of the game’s most dangerous centres to fullback as he seeks an exit from the Roosters.

Dragons winger Zac Lomax wants to do the same, and has been given the blessing from coach Paul McGregor.

Players switching position is nothing new.

Whether it can be bodies getting older and slower or that athletes have to adapt to a fresh role to make way for new signings.

Some may point to the clamour to change roles in a team being due to money spent on fullbacks, who generally get paid more than centres or wingers.

But in the eyes of former Kangaroo Mark Gasnier, the transformation is a result of how the game is being played and that it places less value on speed and finesse.

“I think it’s a reflection of where the game is that in regards to hardly any centres get early ball these days,” Gasnier told foxsports.com.au.

“The teams are so close together all the time and because the game is so dominated by the ruck and wrestling. Rarely do teams shift the ball, because they know with a dominant ruck it’s a losing play, they’ll get bogged down, they’ll be on the back foot and then struggle to get a quick kick away.

“There used to be nothing more frustrating when you’re standing out in the centres and you just can’t get the ball. And if they did move it to you, you would have two or three people on you straight away.

“I’ve been harping on about it for six or seven years, that genuine centres in the game have died because there’s no reward for coaches or recruitment officers to have a super strike centre because it’s got no purpose.

“Whereas the fullback they know they can get their hands on the football anywhere between two to three times a set and have an opportunity to showcase their talent.”

Lomax is said to have got the nod from coach Paul McGregor to take the No. 1 jersey from Matt Dufty.

His transition to being the fullback comes at a time when St George Illawarra and the under-pressure McGregor need to change their fortunes around.

But former Dragon Gasnier believes it won’t be an overnight solution to the Dragons’ attack.

“I still think Zac’s a natural centre and I guess they need to think about his long-term future,” said Gasnier.

“That will then reflect how they recruit moving forward. It’s going to be interesting, he’s got all the skill.

“It’s a tough position and if he wants to succeed as a fullback he’s got to decide to do that now. The reality is that it could take two or three years, because to get to where you want as a fullback takes a lot of game time.

“Look at James Tedesco, he had all the talent in the world but it still takes you a long period of time to get all the little nuances that come with it whether it be defending, whether it comes with your timing, whether it comes with certain bits of the game plan and where you need to be, depth when you receive the ball, but there’s no doubt about it but Zac’s got the talent.”

Lomax is too slow, clumsy and isn't skillful enough for fullback. I think now that Euie has continually won that battle, and with some absolute quality juniors coming (fullbacks) I'd let him go

Do you think Aitken would get a run with your team?

the whole LOMAX to FULLBACK talk is utterly meaningless

Heres the history from Mcfroghead:

Oh MANN is locked in, its his for the season! ( hooked after a tiny few games)

next season.... oh FIELD is our FULLBACK its locked in for next season ( then doesnt even play dufty does)

next season as he was threatening to leave... DUFTY is our FULLBACK its locked in for all season ( then gets shafted after not even a full season there)

now NORMANS our fullback and its his spot hes so good there...then BAM nah....

now its LOMAX for fullback, what gump , hell be in the centres in 3 games , and STAR!! I think hes too slow and wed be far better with SAILOR there or fasttracking RAMSEY to do the job theyre all total rookies

I still think though young DUFTY will shock the lot of them if given another crack, hes a LOT better player even in D than anyone knows just watch him go~!

Lomax needs to make a fist of the fullback spot or I'm afraid it's back to the bench jostling Luke for a utility spot. I think it's a real shame his development has stalled, but some players just don't transition to first grade unfortunately
