He can play, but i doubt he is any better then what you have already, thats my point.
My point is that NSW selectors and Brian Smith seem to not share your opinion.

And with your previous posts in relation to anything to do with Newcastle now that Brian Smith is coach, you really can't be taken all that seriously or with any respect, due to that if Brian Smith had recruited the NRL's best you'd find something to whinge about.

Residents squad means a ticket to first grade does it? alot of players have made that squad and not delivered.

Well like many people my views on players are totally different to Brians  and even other coaches such as JT, Hagan and others who have found homes for Parra players who were unwanted by Brian;-)

Anyway, this isn't a slanging match, i will say that Zeb does some good things, but has had chances in firsts but showed bugger all, he's down the pecking order at Parra probably even behind Lowrie at present, not to say he wont come good but not sad at loosing him with what we have already.

Well he hasn't, and Brian does have some good points as a coach.

looks like he might be heading up to Newie for the rest of 2007 as well as the entire 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons

http://www.smh.com.au/news/Sport/Taia-moves-from-Eels-to-Knights/2007/06/25/1182623815895.html
Zeb Taia has become the 13th NRL player to switch clubs mid-season after being granted a release from Parramatta to join Newcastle.

The 22-year-old backrower will have his first training session with the Knights on Tuesday after agreeing to terms with the club until the end of the 2010 season.

"He's a second row specialist, can play lock, has good feet and he's aggressive," said Knights coach Brian Smith, who gave Taia his NRL debut at the Eels in round five last year.

"I've watched his progression since he joined Parramatta as an 18-year-old.

"He's worked his way through the lower grades and has a lot of respect from the other players.

"At the moment we have the opportunity for him to further his future in a hurry because of the extent of our injury list and he could very well find himself in first grade very soon."

Taia has played only three NRL games for the Eels this season.

He joins the likes of Josh Lewis, Jamie Soward, Luke MacDougall, Clint Newton, Ian Donnelly, Richie Williams and Chris Flannery to switch clubs during the 2007 season.

Far out. We are going to have some depth. Thats 10 backrowers now. Simpson, Patterson, Abraham, Reynoldson, Bailey, Sargent, Houston, Tanner (if he stays), Ling and Taia.

Lucas Miller and Scott Dobbins from our Flegg side have played NSW u17s, 18s and 19s as second rowers - not to mention the Tupou brothers are a bit hot as well.

From the sounds of the quotes in that article and the fact that he was signed for 3 more seasons on top of the rest of this year, I'm expecting Taia to be pretty close to the top of the pile after the obvious starters like Simpson at least to start off at least but maybe if others get in good form or Taia drops off things could change

Taia is a great player, watched him play for Penrith Juniors before making his way to Parra.

Its a good signing!
