I was at the SCG spectating a shield game one time maybe 8 years ago and remember watching O'Keefe practice his bowling in the nets - this was before I knew who he was. The dude just oozes personality. Possibly the total opposite of Clarke. I am not surprised to hear they didn't get along. Imagine trying to have a conversation with a cardboard cut out.

I've seen him play in Sheffield Shield and Matador quite a few times. As you said he is a big personality, very funny and has some great interaction with the crowd, especially the kids.

Many of you have already said it. But Warnes influence on selections has been diabolical. You blokes here to give credit have been talking O'Keefe up and his first class record is very strong over a long period of time. To think he's had to wait behind blokes like Doherty, Beer, McGain just beggars belief. It was like there was a constant fascination to pick a bolter often endorsed by someone like Warne in the hope they could miraculously uncover the next big thing from nowhere, but the answer has always been there performing well, consistently over a long period of time. Genuinely happy for the guy.

The main reason Clarke was bagging SOK has got to be that when he was captain he never picked him in the side just because the two of them didn't get along.
Clarke has cost O'Keefe what could have been a long and successful Test career.

Not bad for the worst team to tour India with white ball bowlers. LOL
LOL. Gold! Someone should spam Warne's facebook with that.

I absolutely loved it when Marlon Samuels gave it to Warne in the post-match interview of the 2016 World T20. Warne was made to eat humble pie after bagging Samuels all summer (holding a grudge going back to that incident they had in the BBL in 2013).

Not long home from dinner, I went to get a beer and the Indians were already 2 down and I made the comment that the game wouldn't go into day 4 and bugger me I get home all all I see are ads as they were rolled for bugger all!.
Can't wait to see if the Aussies can maintain the momentum and the Indians run out of reviews again!.

In addition, Clarke's ascension to captain also ended Katich's career. Seems he wasn't a fan of Khawaja as well, as Khawaja only started getting more opportunities after Clarke retired.

It's pretty disgraceful that someone in Clarke's position could let personal differences influence team selections, especially when it comes to the detriment of the team.

When they are old and on their death beds, McGain and Beer can both single-handedly thank Warne for their test careers. Both of them were ushered into the test team solely off the back of Warne's comments in the media about them.

O'Keefe has an excellent first-class record, and was the leading spinner in Sheffield Shield for a long time but sadly at 32yrs old, doesn't have a lot of opportunities left in his career.

A shame that the peak years of his career (before injuries) - his 20's - coincided with Ponting/Clarke's captaincy. Clarke, as you know...something must've happened between the two of them which is why he only played one test under his captaincy (and had to wait until 2014 for that). Ponting had his favourites, and why schmos such as Marcus North repeatedly selected.

With the recent 12 wicket haul, O'Keefe now has 237 wickets from 67 first-class matches at an average of 22.90. I just hope he continues his good form just to rub it in to Warne and Clarke, especially after being referred to as a 'white-ball specialist', which is complete crap and shows Warne's ignorance, given O'Keefe averages 55.89 in List A/domestic limited overs matches.

Please. Stop. I don't need more reasons to hate Clarke.

One of the many crazy things about this game: SOK got off to a slow start. When he went in to bowl the ball that would become his first wicket he was 0/30. Then he took 3 wickets in an over. And then he took 9 more. 0/30 -> 12/70
Yeah and you had us getting beaten lol.

I think we should give Renshaw an honorary baggy blue. He is earning it. Seems you get a baggy green these days and they just hand you a baggy blue.
