I want Pierce in my team-He is sharp. I would even consider Soward if he plays well against Manly. Hodgo and reynolds and Maloney? Id pick sowie every day of the week over them

Moylan is the most overhyped player in the game, and his defence is not even close to origin quality.

why are these guys so obsessed about picking guys on last year or the previous years form, current form seems to mean nothing to these guys

They don't even stick to their principles. They say it is based on last years form, but then they drop someone who was good last time around.

No surprise we struggle every year. Just pick the best players for a change!!

I agree 100%.Incumbency is silly imo. Pick on form.

The problem is people see form differently than others.
One person could say that Pearce is the form halfback, while someone else could say Hodkinson (though you'd have to be an idiot to think that).

It is a good idea to pick players who have been there before and performed well in that arena. QLD has done it for years and it has worked for them.

NSW selectors have gotten it wrong time and time again - dropping Hindmarsh for no reason; not picking Hayne at fullback for years; not dropping Pearce when he showed he wasn't up to it; picking only one prop in the entire team; Merritt, D. Williams, Turner on the wing; allowing Gallen to do whatever the f**k he wants to on the field....the list goes on and on.

And do you know has been at the centre of ALL of those decisions? The current coach, Laurie Daley.

Very true.

He's part of the reason I don't care if NSW lose.

Hypothetical - if Hoppa gets picked and gets a serious, long-term injury (after we specifically voiced our concerns that he wasn't fit), can we take action against NSWRL?

Let's face it, the major reason NSW won last year is now running around in Northern California.
QLD still has pretty much all the best players in the game, even if they are declining with age. It will be a monumental task for us to pull off a win this year.

I say we go with a bunch of young blokes, mixed in with a few of the older ones. We won't win this year but will set ourselves up for the future. In fact it might give us a better chance of winning this year.

One bloke I would like to see in the 17 id Blake Austin. If they think Josh Reynolds is made for Origin (which he isn't - He's barely made for First Grade), then Austin is definitely made for it.
He's Reynolds x1000.

Also, no Tamou. Please!
We have plenty of players we could pick ahead of him - Fifita, Klemmer, Vaughn, James, Snowden, Woods,. Hell, even Mannah!
Anyone know if Kane Evans is eligible for NSW? I know he has played for Fiji, but he could b eligible for both.

Doubt it.
If Arthur really doesn't think Hoppa should be playing he could probably get the docs to rule him out.
In fact, that's exactly what he should do.
