Here's the five who will finish in the last 10.

Big Orange
Hokko Brave
Max Dynamite
Red Cadeaux
Sertorius

The next lot won't run a place.

Snow Sky
The Offer
Prince Of Penzance

These ones are doubtful to run a place.

Hartnell
Who Shot Thebarman (unfortunately)
Sky Hunter
Grand Marshal
Quest For More
Kingfisher
Bondi Beach
Gust Of Wind

That leaves 8 contenders. Out of those, these are my best chances.

Fame Game
Our Ivanhowe
Trip To Paris
Almoonqith
Excess Knowledge

Criterion, Preferment and The United States just don't cut the mustard for me. Now watch all this blow up in my face!!

Totally agree. Started with Bassett not winning and got worse from there

Then I put on a stupid multi instead of smashing what I liked (Gallo chop)

Lost an absolute packet over the weekend

The best thing about Derby Day...is I got called into work so I only lost on the Quaddie and the main race....thank goodness...and I was back in time for the Ascot races which I won on:lol:. I'm still livid I didn't put $5-10 on Politeness like I do every single time...typical the one time he bolts in at $20-1 and I have stuff all on it....

My top 5 are Paris, Preferment, Fame Game, Gust Of Wind & Ivanhoe.

I will have a bit each way on all except Fame Game.
Last fave to win since The Diva?? Anyone??

Fiorente was the last favourite to win, 2 years ago. Damien Oliver rode the horse to give Gai Waterhouse her first Melbourne Cup (Red Cadeaux 2nd as usual)

Possibly won't win this year but I like the United States in the next couple of years for a big chance. Including it in my exotics, and has the world's best jockey on board in my book.

If it gets the distance - watch out. Flying under the radar imo

I know cadeuax isn't in form, but they wouldn't bring it down if they didn't think it was a chance. Going to beat a lot of these home

Disagree on who shot the barman as well - I think it's a show at good odds

Me too HT, I wasn't keen on it early doors at all but after watching a few of his replays and reading his form he appears to be a very classy young animal.

I have concerns over his inexperience and handling the overall situation, plus he has a tricky gate too but if things fall into line and he brings his best I think he can be competitive.
He reminds me a little of Mahler who ran 3rd in 07, Lloyd Williams has bought him and running him for a reason. He's going into all my tri's and first 4's.

Hoping to have enough cash left to have a serious crack at Wawail in r10

I'm a terrible gambler so used my last unlucky $13 in my TAB account on randomised easybet picks plus a couple of lowrolling Top 4 / Trifectas :

E/W : Preferment
QUIN : Preferment - United States

TRI (Boxed) :
Preferment
United States
Kingfisher

Top 4 (unboxed) :
Our Ivanhoe
Bondi Beach
Grand Marshall
Max Dynamite

Trifecta (unboxed) :
Trip To Paris
Almoonqith
Red Cadeaux

Also got Kingfisher on the $5 work sweepstake ($60/40/20 if by some miracle it actually places).

So if any of you have the above horses in any position, I'm sorry I've just jinxed the hell outta ya cos I never win at the races hah!!!

No f**king way.

Max Dynamite came home strong. Great horse and was always going to feature.

I'm in shock.

Anyone who thinks horse racing isn't the most rigged and corrupt sport in Australia is naive. Ridiculous that a 100-1 horse can even come close.
