No McEvoy and Abood in the 50. Don't think Chalmers has the speed. Based on is 100m split the Canadian will be tough to beat and Frenchman Manaudou has a very slick 50 on him.

Don't discount someone outside those two, the 50 is a lottery.

Wow.. Chalmers... what a performance...

Has improved every race.... Might be something very special in 2020..

McEvoy disappointing... his time is a second slower than the trials....

Amazing that an Aussie hasn't won the mens 100m since 1968.... Glad that drought has been put to rest...

Chalmers just looks like a guy that is going to party too long when this is over and why not. I think he drops off by 2020.

Certainly not a lottery, the cream always rises to the top.

I'm not picking those 2 only - but that Canadian just split 22.22 feet on the wall in the 100 final, a time which would have seen him finish 6th at our Olympic trials. That is fast. Tumbling is thought to add minimum 0.7 seconds.

Anthony Ervin and Nathan Adrian are also very fast and a Brazillian (Bruno Fratus) is the fastest in the world this year with 21.3 I think.

The US had 7 guys under 22 second barrier at their trials. We had one with McEvoy who is swimming no where near his best this meet.

Yeah she split 1.53.7, a second faster than anyone else in the race and 2.7 faster than poor Tasmin Cook.
lol Poor Cook looked like an absolute Plodder but she probably produced the swim of her life.

Ledecky is as good as a women's swimmer that we have ever seen.

you would be optimistic about our 200 relay team for next time except that Ledecki will be in her prime still and would probably real in a couple of body lengths.

Wow Chalmers! I thought he might be a chance after his heat, not sure what went on with McEvoy but it seems like Chalmers probably enjoyed not having the weight of expectation.

Think Ledecky is very special, possibly going to be best female swimmer of all time.

Ledecky is just ridiculous. She went into the pool a body length behind and won by a body length.

Ledecky & Phelps are freaks of nature. Mind you the College system in the USA with swimming in far superior than Australia. Ledecky was 15 when you Won the 1 st Gold medal at London. Also, 23 Million citizens in Australia and probably 300 Million in the USA.

that why I say our swimmers should try to get into their college system but I don't know if it works that way.

Dude - you need to check out Federica Pellegrini - absolutely stunning. And former swimmers Franziska van Almsik and Haley Cope.

They make Maddie look rather plain...

Aussie women are more superior - they can have beer at the footy and then, cobble a meat pie in 10 seconds flat - (Lol!)
