You think a real team like the Storm or the Sharks or the Roosters or the Broncos would've been happy with that display today?

No, they would've been disgusted because they know that performance was garbage.

And do you think BA and the players are happy with our performance? BA would be happy we got the two points but disgusted with several aspects with our performance!!!

What makes you think otherwise ????

Just because BA doesn't rip the players / performance in the press conference doesn't mean he aren't pissed!! Privately I am sure he lets the players know what he really thinks. You can see this from the player interviews and the points they make!!

Pretty laughable situation to get yourselves into but to pin it all on that issue alone is a tad simplistic.

Simplistic in the sense that the main reason we lost was because of him? I agree

Despite our huge defiencies, we still should have won quite easily

Anyways congrats on the win, but I wouldn't bank on that gift win bringing you guys back into form

It's not as good as some teams but there is definitely nothing wrong with it. It's a solid competitive team.

I think people are frustrated with the attitude compared to last season. It's chalk and cheese and it's shown in our defence. We have lost to below average teams and struggled to beat the tigers who will not be anywhere near the 8. On every one of those losses our defence has been shocking. Soft tries being let in. That did not happen last season. Last season there was a really good spirit in the team they were pumped but last month has been direct opposite.

We actually let in some very soft tries against both Manly and the Dragons. I guess the signs were there that all might not have been right. I guess it's easy to look good when you have 57-58 per cent of the possession (unless you're the 2017 Cowboys)

Well the missing links from last year seem to be:-
  • Steady influence of Flash at the back.
  • Kenny
  • Danny Wicks off the bench
  • IDG
  • A fit Beau Scott
  • Bevan scoring 2/3 tries a match

Yes our defence has been poor at times especially around the ruck / line speed.

I think losing IDG / Edwards has been a big contributor to this.

We have been starting ok but falling away 20 mins into the game. We do look tired.

Last year Edwards would come on around this time moving moeroa into the middle. Moeroa would bring more energy into our middle defence. His defence is great!!

We would also bring on our second hooker normally Pritchard some time during the game to play a running role but more so to add energy to our line speed.

Additionally in the last 20 mins of the game we would bring on Scott on to play in the middle who would also add more defensive structure to our middle.

I think its quite hilarious that in the off season many thought IDG being our #9 was the worst thing in the world .... not so sure now

Of the seven teams we've played, three are currently top five. We also lost in New Zealand, where the Warriors have a 3-1 record so far.

The only 'below average team' we've lost to was the Titans, and we all agree that was a massive f**kup. No Corey Norman that day either.

And three of the seven are in the bottom 5...

No Plane, Peats, Copley, Don and players getting injured throughout the match for the Titans didn't stop them from winning...

Nope. That's not what I am saying. There were multiple factors at play.

Despite our huge defiencies, we still should have won quite easily

But we didn't let you.

Who said I am? We played shit football against an equally shit team and only just won.

The only thing I am banking on is that neither the Tigers nor the Eels will compete for the premiership this year.

Bullshit!! No one is making excuses!! Rather then whinging about us being shit, some are actually looking at why we are performing poorly!!

It's easy to say we are shit, we are soft, our defence is shit, we are losing the ruck, our players are crap!!

Let's see why we been shit in defence compared to last year!!

We could have won that game by 40 yesterday - and should have. Try after 2 minutes and nearly one soon after when Semi was poorly positioned and 12 nil down after 7 or 8 minutes - the Tigers would have folded.

But as has been the case for 3 years now - we always make it as hard as possible.

The reasons are all just excuses.

To start with, Beau Scott was injury prone last season, the club didn't want Gordon, it knew in the off season it would be highly unlikely Edwards would be unavailable for a lengthy period. Good teams adapt to adversity.

The team that has taken the field for the first seven weeks is considerably better on paper than the team that took the field for the last 14 rounds last season, but the performances are not better.

You're kidding right?

The Tigers were better for about 20 minutes out of 80. That period leading up to halftime.
Apart from that they got comfortably rolled.

If the Eels didn't have a case of the forward passies your mob may've been towelled by 20.

Gift win? Aren't the Eels the team who gave the Tiggles 2 simple tries inside 10 by not marking up on the dummy half?
