Game Day v Tigers

You're kidding right?

The Tigers were better for about 20 minutes out of 80. That period leading up to halftime.
Apart from that they got comfortably rolled.

If the Eels didn't have a case of the forward passies your mob may've been towelled by 20.

Gift win? Aren't the Eels the team who gave the Tiggles 2 simple tries inside 10 by not marking up on the dummy half?

Well forward passes arent allowed. Maybe look it up?

If the refs did their job Nathan Brown should've been binned for swearing at the ref

Or if the refs correctly ruled the high tackle on Teddy we probably win

We were cruising at 22-10 and your man cruised home for you guys to steal it at the end.

And three of the seven are in the bottom 5...
The Warriors have won half their games though (like us) so in this case bottom five is the same as ninth. It's very different to bottom four - teams with two or fewer wins.
No Plane, Peats, Copley, Don and players getting injured throughout the match for the Titans didn't stop them from winning...
Not that day but it's obviously stopped them winning every other game.

If you're cruising with 20 minutes to go it might explain why you lost. We wore your team down, it's that simple. When you ran out of puff in the middle we were able to get it to the edges where we are strong and the Tigers defence is weakest.

Thats it?

Defensively yes.

We haven't got anywhere near the same attitude in defence as we had last season. It's well off the pace.

The only reason the Dragons are on top of the ladder is to do with attitude. They're running hard and winning the play the ball in both attack and defence. Their team is no better than ours.

The reasons are all just excuses.

To start with, Beau Scott was injury prone last season, the club didn't want Gordon, it knew in the off season it would be highly unlikely Edwards would be unavailable for a lengthy period. Good teams adapt to adversity.

The team that has taken the field for the first seven weeks is considerably better on paper than the team that took the field for the last 14 rounds last season, but the performances are not better.

Potentially one of the most single mindedly idiotic posts I've ever read, and I was around for Razor.

The reasons we may not be as good as we'd like are just excuses covering up why we may not be as good as we'd like? You're like a dog with a bone. There is only one reason and it's the one you made up....right?

No idea, but if anyone does I'm sure BA would like to know as well.

Norman hasn't been in the same form as he was starting last year, we have lost a very experienced fullback which is a hugely underrated piece in a defensive line, enthusiasm from Edwards is missing as well as his penetration on the edges, Scott playing like a busted when he was drilling everything that moved in defence last season, Kaysa is a poor defensive hooker in place of one who is at least good in that regard, Vave is worse than Wicks and Gower defensively.....cue Alvin telling me I'm making excuses, lol

We will improve with Edwards back. We will improve when the guys playing fullback get more accustomed to their role in mustering the defence. We will improve massively if we do get Moses this season purely because we will have two play kickers. We are stuck in a cycle of rebuilding and have been for years because our political situation has been atrocious and we've changed coaches like some people change mobile carriers....it sucks but if we're going to break that cycle we need to stick by the best coach we've had in a decade.

Rugby League at the elite level of the NRL is predominantly a mental game on any given day. How does the team the Titans put on the paddock last week supposedly come close to the Broncos? It's the mental attitude of both teams that makes that game close.

We were mentally a much superior team last season.

Some fair points there Baz, I still think our fitness is an issue as well. Devlin had us the fittest I had seen an Eels team ever. And I think results on the field showed, we had a hard edge to our footy and were tough to beat. This year it's not there at all.

Yeah I didn't rate signing Palmer and I still don't. His last few teams have had massive injury tolls....

Where did Devlin go?
