How many from their current 17 would get a start elsewhere? Like I said very similar to our 2012 and 13 teams. 2013 we beat the Storm but were no where near the top 8...

Ahh yes I forgot you blokes only care about beating top teams not making the 8... My mistake carry on
They have won 2 from 2... and not easy games. Yet you think its fair to write them off as a top wrap contender based on results of teams with 15 different players and a different coach.

Im not saying they're top 8 certainties. But based on the season so far they are 100% definitely a top 8 contender.

What happened 2+ years ago with completely different rosters and coaches has absolutely zero effect on what this roster is capable of. They play for 80 minutes. They defend well. They can get raped by penalties and still keep their minds focused.

They still have their biggest signing to return also.

Storm too have a few decent players to go.

That 100% footy show last night. Gus had some interesting points on the Cap. Btw after that I give us 0% of re-signing Mansour. He laughed off the Journo's assessment that Mansour was a $400k player. Which is what Oates wants but wants to play backrow to get it

My point is. It's so hard to manage and while we have plenty of room this year and next. 2019 we will be different when Cleary, RCG and Blake get re-signed
Laughs at a suggestion Mansour is worth $400k while Tamou is collecting $700k+...

The average wage under this new salary cap is supposed to be $330k or something like that. Yet Gus doesnt think our Australian rep winger who carries our forward pack is worth slightly above the average?

I don't think Mansour has quite returned to his best after the knee reconstruction. I was just thinking the other day he probably shouldn't have shaved off his beard in the off season. He plays better when it is fully grown.

Mansour does a tremendous job for our team & would love to keep him but the whole thing about him carrying our forward pack is ridiculous. He's replaceable.

Mansour is not replaceable at all - How many wingers get the sets started out of our own end as well as he does? Not many, if any - And it may not happen every game, but he has definitely carried some poor performing forwards in games.

James Tamou...

Josh Mansour

Without his metres gained we got destroyed last year. A winger should be replaceable... but a $700k prop should be racking up close to twice what he is aswell.

Mansour is important so long as oyr forwards aren't making 150m+ themselves

They aren't making 150+ metres because we're not set up for them to do so. Our sets start with our backs taking the first 2 - 3 hit ups each set because they're so effective. It's clearly strategic, I don't think it's because Tamou, Merrin & Co. couldn't be bothered or aren't good enough to make more metres. If we needed extra offensive input for them, I think they'd all be capable of doing so.

People pulling out one stat on Tamou & basing a whole argument off it is ridiculous. He deserved criticism at times last year but so far this year he's been terrific for us.

Edwards averages more then Mansour. No reason Crichton wouldn't either we are setup for big outside backs making metres

Turns out it was a Panthers member who said stuff to Inglis. Wasn't just booing. Looking at a lifetime ban. The hypocrisy when actual violent offenders are playing in the same game. We want to rehabilitate but life ban people because it's good PR.

Thats the hypocrisy. Not defending the guy or saying he should get another go, but they give woman bashers another chance.

You said Mansour doesnt carry our forward pack and isnt irreplaceable.

You now say its our strategy that stops Tamou making metres... wouldnt you say that makes the guy who does make the metres kind of more valuable than a 90m per game front rower?

Tim Browne can pump that out if given the minutes. A front rowers job is to dominate the middle of the field. Wear the opposition out. Without our back 3 getting metres we would be destroyed in the forwards.

This is true, and also my worry with JFH moving to prop. Hopeless metre maker.

I agree hes not back at his peak yet. But he's still great for us.

Mid-season he should be alot better. Will mark a year since returning from his injury. Like you I feel his beard gave him extra powers too.

He's also missing Moylan I think. They combined regularly. 90% of Mansours work was Moylans kick returns anyway.

This perhaps more than words, show the seriousness of Tim Browne's injury.

Definitely serious. That shows they had to cut him right open - presumably they went in to take the spleen out and then found the spleen was bruised but ok, but must have then discovered his bowel was ruptured. He said that they had to remove 3 cm of his small intestine. He also has about 30 cm of stitches up the middle of his abdomen and two drains in.

Worse than I expected and I think he will be out for 8-10 weeks.
