I can see both sides. They are top teams who are down on form.

The question is did we do that(Comeback win in the heat destroying parra's moral and our best game in 2 years could have made Cows look worse) or is it a problem with them clubs.

Parra look underdone. The crazy heat has only made it worse. Cows lost their 1st 3 when they won the comp. JT and Morgan will come good with gametime.

Meanwhile our focus was not starting 2-7 again. So we are further along than most teams the hard part is not burning out before finals

Its just going to go again. Needs to think about the rest of his life. Although if he really wants it then of course ill back him.

I'd still take him this week over Aussie Jim

Who doesn't like an underdog story? I'll pay for the surgery.

Too right.

I thought Sam was one of our better forwards at the start of the season.
I hope these surgeries work out for him but age is really working against him.
Good luck big fella.

I agree - he was looking good.

Thankfully for him as a prop you usually hit your peak in your late 20s. I reckon he would have killed it this year if he didn’t get injured.

He could still be good early into his early thirties - particularly given his body will be in better condition with 3 years out of the game.

If he is determined enough to go through his 3rd ACL surgery and rehab, another pre-season and up to first grade level fitness, then attitude wise he is the kind of guy you want at the club.

Thankfully also as a prop who doesn’t rely on speed or agility an ACL injury has less of a chance of permanently reducing your performance compared to the risk in a player who relies on speed and agility.

I just hope he doesn’t come back and do it a 4th time.

I bet Freddie Fittler would be scratching his head last night and thinking the Blues have a few issues. Tedesco looks really out of form and Cordner was looking very average too. You couldn't pick either of them on current form. Wade Graham looked distinctly average too and shouldn't get picked.

On the plus side, Ferguson looks good and Keary was good too. Keary and Maloney might be a good combination with Maloney playing halfback (he is going to get some practice at that in the next few weeks).

The Dragons forwards Vaughn, De Bellin and Frizell were in awesome form. They should be the first picked. Throw in RCG and you have a ball tearing front row with Klemmer coming off the bench, or vice versa..

Problem is you are right but some players will be picked on name alone unless Freddie was specifically brought in by the NSWRL to do a clean out which I'm not confident of.

The big problem with that is the talking heads rattle on about how important Origin experience is. I think if you picked a Blues team now purely on form there would be only be half a dozen who had been there before. Personally I think that would be a good thing and exactly what should happen. Instead we will see a pack dominated by plodders from the Bulldogs.

I believe Freddie is his own man. He always has been strong willed. He'll pick his team. He knows what type of players are good for origin.

Can't wait to absolutely obliterate Melbourne in the last round.

30 point win-, nah f uck that 50 point win. I want Melbourne to be in a position where as long as they don't get smashed they make the finals then RCG and JFH show up and beat the utter shit out of them. Young Storm fans bawling their eyes out whilst Maloney gets his 6th try assist. Fu ck yeah I can't wait.

Seeing how the Warriors and Dragons are going, I'm more optimistic for us than ever. Kearney would have been most people's pick for worst coach in the comp, with McGregor not very far behind. If Griffin sticks to just keeping the squad fit and happy, the players should be good enough to make up for the fact that he's not a great tactician.

It seems the traditional strong teams are struggling with the rules being enforced and the good guys like us who play football are getting the benifit.
