It wasn't JT who was the problem I don't think. With 10 to go, and the side 8 behind, the outside backs took up the ball one after another. Why? There is no other explanation but the forwards were buggered. Last year, especially in the finals, in that game situation you'd have seen Taumalolo, Cooper, Hess, Bolton and Taumalolo again taking it up and making big yards. The Cows got an 86% completion rate, but the forwards were outplayed.

JT was playing behind a beaten pack, just like last week.

Brandy made the comment before the game (and didn't blame the loss on Thurston). Thurston is looking completely busted, however. He spent large parts of the game defending on the wing with one of his arms hanging limply from his side (perhaps recurrence of a shoulder injury).

So Freddie learnt the 'round pegs round holes' lesson of management the hard way, big deal. Everybody makes bad decisions at some point, I have plenty and the scars to prove it. The only difference is a coaches bad decisions are played out in a public forum. Freddie is very smart and plays up to his dumb larrikin persona on purpose.
