Nathan Brown v Wayne Bennett

What 'more' should Nathan Brown have said about his personal life? Maybe brought his son into it perhaps?

This was sleazy tabloid stuff and an NRL coach should be above it.

Take shots at coaching records etc., but leave his missus and family out of it
He didn’t mention family or his missus. Typical that a QLD’er feels the need to defend Wayne. I’m sure Wayne is big enough to carry his own baggage. I’m sure he appreciates your efforts though, great to see chivalry isn’t dead.

You need to find out what personal means.
annoying as it might be, criticism of a coach's professional actions & decision-making is not personal.

criticism of a coaches' private life is.

Great point.

Browny should apologise if his comment offended Wayne. If you could elaborate a little Greggy and explain how his comment was 'personal'.

And then Wayne can apologise to an entire community for running their club onto the ground for years on end and blaming someone else. He clearly took his eye off the ball as he must have had his attention fixed elsewhere right?

But hey, that's not personal is it?

Bennett hitched his wagon to Tinkler. Tinkler sh*t all over Newy - unpaid wages, promises not kept etc that impacted plenty of people. Bennett lands back at Brisbane as the messiah with the security many in Newy had lost.
That, to me, is more personal than what Browny said last night which is why I get the anti Bennett sentiment from Newy fans.

Have you got shit for brains or something?

Bennett should have clealry retired after Saints. He can trash as many clubs as he likes now. In fact I've quite enjoyed what has happened at drugcastle and now the drongos. Two bigger dropboxes you couldn't find.

But that is football matters. Going into personal matters is another thing entirely. Browns comment was vulgar, not clever.

No it was Bennett who decided to sign a lot of old guys on long term deals effectively f**king the long term cap in the hope he might jag a premiership in 2013.

Tinkler got booted, Bennett walked fully paid up while watching his players not get paid. Both are complicit.

The thing is Brown let it pass and just got on with fixing the cap. Bennett dredged it up again. Deserves what he gets.

When Bennett arrived at Newcastle he was seen as the messiah by the very same fans.
Agreed. Probably no different to the initial feeling of Stuart joining Parra & then walking when things got tough. Fans don’t take kindly to it. Admittedly Stuart probably did Parra a favour(or you guys a mischief)when he signed at Canberra.

I am keen to know what exactly Bennett could've done to see to it that his players got paid

Again fair. I think we have been taking our medicine for 3 years now lol...

He did the same thing at the Dragons, the Dragons haven't been in the frame ever since he left the club, the only difference is that he delivered a premiership, if he delivered a premiership to Newcastle would all of what has been said count for nothing?

He is doing it to you guys now so interested in your opinion as well.......

I don't think a premiership is worth 5 years in the abyss.

Bennett traded on his "high morals" throughout his career, I have no issue with this from Brown.

It's great for the sport to be honest.

Nothing. But he could have played a longer term game that did not f**k the club for 5 years.

Anyway it is done and we have served our time, looks like you guys are about to begin yours...
