And we are still 8th.......we must be the worst team that has ever sat in the 8 for this long into a season!

And win next week, and it’s quite possible we are only 2 points from 5th spot and at worse only 4 points from 4th.

If we can win 1 of our next 2 games plus the bye, we aren’t sitting that bad on the table considering some of our performances.

I don't think we did too badly.

* Lost fullback after 2 minutes;
* Thus forced to play stand-in fullback and third-string five-eighth;
* Horrible decision before halftime. Take that away and it's 38-22;
* Last Sharks try was due to our desperation leading to throwing the ball away.

Yes, we made poor 5th tackle options in the first half (especially). But even with that, if that first half ref blunder had not have occurred we would have been in with a shot while playing a back-up fullback and third string five-eighth.

It wasn't great but I don't think it's a wrist cutting exercise.
It doesn't matter, we had more then enough opportunities to get back into the game. We could have made it 14-12 going into half time with repeat sets on they're line, instead we didn't do anything with it and they went and scored the next set to make it 20-6 at HT.

No one is cutting there wrists we are all pretty used to it by now, but if you don't think it was alarming last night then we weren't watching the same game, there was a period there where they could have scored every set and didn't only because they bombed it.

We have no way of dealing with any sort of adversity, as soon as the tide is against us, which is usually every away game we crumble.

The worst part is you knew we were never gonna win that game, and that isn't going to change anytime soon under BA.

Crieky the next few weeks are going to confuse the team. I'm not sure if they'll know when to play well or not.
Home against the Broncos. (Play well)
Home against the Raiders in the NT (Suppose to play well for a home game but we're on the road)
Bye
Away against the Tigers at home. (Not a home game home game, flip a coin)

Its all about the amount of time we spend on a bus

Everyone going on about if we win our next couple games and what not we will be in a good position.

Well after our amazing start to the year, we played the Panthers 3 weeks ago who were pretty much down and out, they now sit 2 points behind us.

Just shows when we have a bad year we come last by a country mile, when anyone else does they pretty much still out do us, when we have a good year, how good?!

Was reading an article Penrith are doing a cleanout under Cleary
Wonder if BA / Parra will do the same, will seem pointless signing up the same roster

Makes me think did we have many new guys come into the squad for 2017?

Seems our better players this year are the new guys that have come on board in Sivo, Lane , Fergo, to some extent JPaulo
Madge Maguire is doing a cleanout too.

Packer, Mautalino (sp), Ethan Lowe and one other have been told to FO.

Graham and Xerri are going to be a dynamite combination moving forward. The skill and the speed/footwork work together so well. Our boys really got lit up.

We really need to clean up our middle! Our marker defence and first up contact are rubbish, not up to first grade standard at all.

somethings i've notice in no particular order:

- Moeroa isn't a lock. He's an out and out prop now, too big, too slow and lacks mobility for anything else really. Especially in the context of the other forwards in this team we need our lock to be more mobile, fast and energetic. You could see when NBrown and to a lesser extent Stone (in previous games) that the line speed, intent and scramble is more effective.

- Mahoney is too inexperienced and physically under developed to be an 80 minute hooker this early in his career. This is a 21 year old with 20 or so first grade games experience, he's a talent and goes hard but boy are we running him into the ground. He is currently the NRL's top tackler with 618 (47.5 per game avg), 68 tackles more than the next bloke (McInnes). Tied 2nd in missed tackles with 59 and tied 2nd in ineffective tackles with 25. Now obviously making so many tackles is going to make it easy to rake up a ton of misses and ineffective ones. But Cameron McInnes doesn't appear in the top five for either category but Cameron is a bit bigger and more importantly more experienced/physically mature.

- Our props are shit, for the amount of games we have invested in developing Paulo, Moeroa, Terepo and Alvaro only Paulo is a decent first grader. Mannah's best years are behind him and Evans is the kinda dud you wish you could cut before the end of their contract ie the NFL.

- NBrown is a beast.

Now i'm not bashing Reed, i do like him as a player and think he's a first grade quality player. But i do think he needs his minutes reduced to the 55/60 mark.
I'd like to see NBrown starting next week with Stone on the Bench spending time at lock replacing NBrown and spending some time at hooker.

I agree with Pazza about Mahoney. He is a wonderful tackler but he really doesn’t offer anything out of dummy half. He doesn’t run, he is just shoveling the ball out. Watch how other dummy halves are playing now, they are scooting out and picking up running forwards. It just provides so much momentum. Defence is constantly retreating.

Defensively, he is being targeted close to the line too now. I would give McIlwrick a crack.

I really just wanted to lighten his load in an attempt to tighten the middle. Also get Stone some time cause i think he is a guy along with NBrown that can add some energy, speed and enthusiasm to our pack.

But i understand what you're saying in term of his attack. Brad Drew in 2001 did a wonderful job of darting out of dummy half and engaging the markers. But i ask is this an issue with Reeds game or is it how BA wants to play? During BA's time here we have never attacked much off the dummy half or up the middle of the field with any sort of set plays. Lots of sweeping block plays, one dimensional shit really.
