Why are we signing all the rejects instead of focusing on the main talent2 signing of guys that will not play first grade Jennings and eisenhuth .that money keeps Mansour or tops up two. Those spots could go to the next young kids

Couldn’t agree more. We still have the likes of Yeo, Crichton, Mansour, Naden etc to secure beyond 2021. I know we need forwards, but Christ! a West Tigers reject? I hope Ivan knows what he’s doing.

Matt Cameron is the man. As long as he is there I am happy.

Those signings are just depth. Robert Jennings has always been talented and the club has given him a lifeline. If he works out a longer deal will ensue, if not he will go. Eisenhuth is a good solid prop. An experienced value buy. Perfect for when injuries or suspensions occur.

Crichton is done deal. Announcement very soon.
Yeo, Spencer, and Luai are in the late stages of negotiations and the club is very hopeful of having them all tied up within the next 4-6 weeks or sooner.
Burton, they want to keep. They have presented a contract to him with a pathway to first grade. He is very much in the clubs plans for the future. They are still hopeful, despite all the attention he will stay.

Naden's future is up in the air at the moment.

There is someone else the club is negotiating to extend, but I won't say who yet. A nice little surprise.

In saying all about Robert Jennings.

I have a mate who is well known for having some solid footy thoughts a couple of years ago he rated Robert the best of all the Jennings boys.

This bloke generally is on the money. Sounds like after leaving Souths Robert perhaps got into some bad ways.

I'm sure he's almost on min wage, and is wanting to as he said 'hit the re=start button'. Robert will be behind Naden, Sauce, Critta, Whare, Bizza, Laurie and Staines in the pecking order. If he can get back to where he was a couple of years ago, it will be a solid depth signing.

Blokes with speed like Jennings don't lose speed (unless it's by injury). Speed isn't coachable.

Reagarding Webester 12 months almost to the day Penrith folks were moaning about Barrett being brought back in as speed coach. I wonder where those folks are now.

I'll wait and see what Webster brings to the table before claiming he's aactsdud. Penrith is chocked full of talent and passion. Not a boast just facts.

I'll comment mid year

It was commonly thought Robert was the best of the brothers based on their form in the junior comps. It's never really translated into NRL though. He did look fine at Souths, but playing outside Inglis will do that for you. In saying all that, it's not a big deal, we need to fill a squad & he will be on the low end of the wage scale. Having an experienced backup isn't a bad thing. I doubt he ever lives up to the hype from when he was younger, but happy to be proven wrong.

I hope this unnamed player is a good one?

Based on this years form george is the money value Jennings he was outstanding when loaned to the warriors.Playing for parra he never got many chances and just putting on a parra jersey decreases your talent

He did look good for the Warriors. I really liked how the loan thing worked this year. A few players that are otherwise riding the pine got a chance to shine & for the most part they all did.

Poor Dylan. Trains all year at FB, does a more than passable job on his return chiming into back line plays, late in the season gets shunted to centre to accommodate May playing the FB role in those plays (which Ivan then broadcasts as the reason he wants May in the team) then cops the criticism for not being a legitimate centre & the play dying with him.

Is he the best ball playing FB - no. But it would have been nice to have let him try to develop that part of his game during the season rather than plonking May in the middle of it so he can start games as a makeshift centre.

Anyway, I feel that Laurie will be our longer term FB, with Staines on the wing. Not sure where that leaves Edwards as he doesn't appear explosive or creative enough for centre (I'd persevere with Naden at centre).

So a possible $500k for Burton and at least they admit Panthers want to keep him which lines up with what Blade has said.

BULLDOGS’ MIND-BLOWING OFFER TO PANTHERS STAR

The Panthers are set to ramp up their pursuit of on-contract Panthers back-up five-eighth Matt Burton when the November 1 deadline hits.

Clubs are free to talk to Burton from Sunday as he is only signed for the 2021 season and James Hooper revealed the Bulldogs are set to offer a mammoth deal.

“What I hope Penrith do is release Matt Burton because I think he deserves to play first grade every day of the week,” Wendell Sailor said on Triple M’s Origin Rumble.

“I know the Panthers have a pretty good young squad there now and I think their halves are going to be there for a long time.

“I think you have got to let him go to another club and play first grade every day of the week.”

“You raise a good point because with the Panthers there was a school of thought a couple of weeks ago that they were really going to dig their heels in,” Hooper said.

“The thought was they would be adamant that well he has signed a contract. He is here at Penrith and if Nathan Cleary or Jarome Luai gets a long-term injury next year there is an opportunity for Matt Burton to go straight into first grade.

“I think the thinking is starting to shift a little bit now and the Bulldogs are just going to blow them out of the water.

“As of November 1 they are officially allowed to sign him, so that is tomorrow. I think they are talking about offering him a contract upwards of $500,000 per season.

“That is a hell of a lot more than he is on at Penrith. I’m sure the Bulldogs will make it clear to the Panthers that he has a saloon passage straight into first grade than if he remains at the foot of the mountains and is getting held back a little bit.”

R Jennings has always had ability. I have always thought he is a little bit lazy. He needs to make the most of this opportunity. I'm sure he realises this. Welcome home Robert!!

I can't see how he is going to be held back when Penrith have a plan for him to play another position.
If he wants to play in the halves he will go, but if he wants to stay and play FG elsewhere he will.
Getting sick of this media campaign to get Burton to the Dogs.Usual Hyperboles by Hooper. Same bullshit figure he dropped for Staines.
Piss off Sailor and worry about your own family members.

In regards to the Bullgrubs pursuit of Burton can you imagine the Storm or Rooosters just letting a player go who is in the future plans go with a year left to run on their contract ? Not to mention within a premiership window .
If he goes its all on Ivan for playing his lovechild May .

100%. Gotta love the media campaigning for clubs recruitment. Though it's probably because dogs fans are desperate for Burton so it's an easy sell for stories.

Getting sick of it. Lazy media trying fit the pieces. Like the bullshit of Crichton going there because of his brother.
The Bulldogs are in a mess becase of their own incompetance. They are too lazy to develop their own juniors and now they want to raid our surpluses.
