I think last night was evidence that a shake-up is due and that guys who under-perform and sleepwalk through games should be put on notice.
The youngsters - as skillful as they undoubtedly are - look out of their depth and suffering from a lack of leadership on the pitch (and, maybe, off it as well).
This is the squad I would pick for next weekend. Most people will find a lot wrong with it. It's far from the best team we could put out there, but I think it would be solid.
1 Lomax 2 Moga 3 Suli 4 Feagai 5 Rava 6 Amone 7 Mbye 8 Molo 9 Hunt 10 Kerr 11 Sims 12 Bird 13 JdB
14 Su'a 15 Lawrie 16 Goziewski 17 Woods 18 J Hunt 19 Sullivan
Su'a has to change his tackling style, Lawrie has to raise the bar substantially above what he's offering (if Jaiyden Hunt is eligible he would make my 17 instead of Blocker atm), Ramsey & Sloane need a spell in KOE to enjoy themselves a bit and then have another crack at Firsts with renewed confidence and enthusiasm. As soon as Sullivan is match fit, he goes into 7 and Mbye to the bench.
Any talk about who should be in the 17 is just pi$$ing in the wind anyway, cos Hook will just do the usual like Mary did. I'm just not happy with what I've seen since the Charity Shield - and that was a struggle against a team about as half-baked as we are. Just looking for solutions - so please go gentle on me, fellas.

I know that Sullivan is yet to have a run this year but as soon as he is ready, I would like to see how his combination with Amone would go, that is if Amone is still at 6. Hunt in as hooker should be tested and keep Mbye as a specialist utility from the bench. Having Lomax at 1 might be ok to see how things go. Sloan and Ramsey will become better as they mature.

My take is that we need to do things with a lot more speed - pass the ball, play the ball, quick defence and most of all quick in attack. Everything done quickly and with precision - a lot to ask but hey, these things are part and parcel of a winning culture.

When we finally get all of our players available after suspensions/injuries (well I hope we don't have many more this year - wishful thinking), we should be much improved.

The reserves though need a lot of prodding to get their act right to put pressure on the firsts.

Just add him to the list.
I fail to see how anyone can watch that tackle and say that it was even worthy of a penalty, let alone 10 in the bin and a one week suspension.
Our cards are marked.
The annoying part mate is that we will see that exact tackle another half a dozen times this weekend and I’ll doubt we will see half a dozen charges from the mrc

Agree with most of your solutions.....things must change .Particularly at 6 , 1
& Ramsey.....all 3 are not ready for 1st grade....they do have talent, but look lost.

Sloan: ineffective last night, maybe the weather plus a tough Sharks team. Willing to forgive, he’ll be fine.

Amone: Hate to say but I’m just not seeing it. Very happy to be proven wrong but I’m really worried with him starting at 6.

Ramsey: Has put on a bit of size over pre season and is full of guts but nothing is happening there at the moment but him and Suli are getting no where near enough ball

Bird in the halfs is a must . Sloane could so do with a spell in 2nds. He is getting belting bringing back returns
Said that after last weeks game, & some fool called me ridiculous. Now most want him go back to Reserve grade for a spell...gain some confidence. A week later.
Sloane looks very despondent.

As for Ramsey, he's been copping some flack in here, but I can't remember seeing a team so blatantly misuse a winger like him.

His effort has been great this season but he gets zero quality ball, they never seem to kick anywhere near him, be it high balls or cross fields or grubbers.

He looks ineffective because we only get to see him on first or second tackle hit ups which, even though he has put on some size, are still not his strong suit.

If we are going to persist with picking him which I do support, provided we use him correctly, then it better start soon, otherwise his confidence will suffer...
