The St George Dragons were a club that existed in first-grade (Sydney Premiership/NSWRL/ARL/NRL) from 1921-1998.
After that, they weakly buckled at the knees to News Ltd and formed a joint venture with the Illawarra Steelers to create a new club, the St George Illawarra Dragons.
Whilst the St George Dragons may exist in lower grades, they no longer compete in the NRL.
As a new entity, their first-grade records started from scratch from 1999 onwards.
This is the unequivocal truth, and the history and record books will show as such. Ask any Rugby League historian or statistician and they will tell you the same.
Anything else is just delusions by Dragons fans saddened they didn't have the stones to stand up to News Limited and fight.
Them's the breaks.
