Any dollar spent on BlueBet is a wasted dollar when CommBank is 30mins away.

The rebuild of Penrith Stadium never made any sense and only got as far as it has because of Stuart Ayres' blatant attempts at pork barrelling. A refurb is more realistic, but $309mil is still outrageous.

The government should save the taxpayers dollar and only do the bare necessities, then invite Penrith to play out of CommBank or Accor if they don't like it.

Anything that can deliver us boutique rectangular stadiums should be heralded not criticized. The more all over the country the better. Country areas should make a lot of noise too. Full seater stadiums of between 10-15K variety should be the order of the day for these larger towns that want and are getting NRL games. And don't come at me criticizing and whinging that it would be a total waste of tax payer money to spend around $30-40m dollars to host just one NRL game of the year, because anyone with half a brain could see that if built strategically in the right town and location it would become a focal point of that town that they then can build on it and host a variety of events from other sports, concerts and even trade shows and conventions.

Location and design is the key.

For once, Andrew Webster is correct.
This is NRL amateur hour.

It should be....

1. Move the game to Allianz.
2. Put tickets on sale 9.00 am Monday for Sharks fans/members only for 48 hrs. Advertise this to the max.
3. Block off the northern end lower and upper levels for Roosters fans. Unavailable for Sharks fans to purchase during the Sharks window.
4. Give the Sharks fans a two day ticket window for priority purchase as stated in point 2. Use a password if required.
5. Open up ticket sales for Roosters fans on Wednesday 9.00 am in the Roosters allocated northern end only, while continuing to sell tickets to Sharks fans.
6. Then, Thursday/Friday, open up the rest of the stadium for sale. A free for all for whatever is left. There would be a mix of fans in the remaining areas.

This not only ensures demand for tickets, but also creates an "us vs them" divide of fans.
It's not really that hard, and I reckon that 30 - 35 000 would be there, not 13 000 at a cow paddock in The Shire.

The above scenario that I stated ensures that it remains that Sharks fans get the majority of the ticket window ensuring they have the majority of fans, making it more of a home game for them. It also allows far more Sharks fans to attend than Roosters fans. That's the way it should be, and it doesn't lock thousands of them out of the 13000 capacity shithole that they own.
It is what the A-League have done for years for the WSW vs ESFC derby and always creates ticket demand.
The same thing happens at Commbank these days as well.

The NRL managed to do it in 2009 when the Eels played the Bulldogs in the QF Qualifier. 75000 were in attendance that night.
Half the stadium was Eels fans at one end, and the other half was Bulldogs fans. It created an amazing atmosphere.

What are you using to predict 35k?

That would be 10k more than the same sides got in 2018.

I think people over estimate the popularity to passing fans

Abuse not necessary mate. PR has some alternative views, some I agree with and some I don't. Name calling gets nobody anywhere.
I generally find it much more rewarding to discuss the issues rationally these days.
Yes, I'm getting older and calmer in my later years.
They were the three nicest things I could think of. He deliberately flames these threads out of spite. Deserves a lot worse.
