They’ve called an ambulance because they can’t get it back in. Anything structural he will be done for the year, Olakau’atu is returning this week about 4-5 weeks after doing his

Gutted for the guy. I'm normally ambivalent to how the Storm go, but I wouldn't be too upset seeing them win it this season, just for Hughes after such a let down last year. Hopefully nothing structural and he's back for finals (and the Kiwis).

Topsy-turvy at the SFS, 18-16, Chooks. Halftime. Interestingly, Easts had an easy two points to end the half but took the tap. It came up empty but it was nice seeing them go for a try.

Harry Grant is in fine form, you'd think he'd get them home in the end.

Tupou will rue that failed put down. But there's a semblance of justice in it. Teddy was very clearly offside in the lead up to the Docker-Clay try but video ref decided he'd see it differently.

Huge ramifications for Melbourne if Hughes is out long term. It's basically August now, if he's missing over a month - and if they couldn't get it back in, that doesn't sound good - then he's the guy Melbourne miss the most.

I have to admit one part of me wants the Storm to win because I want a finals game here, ideally v us. 2 v 3 without Hughes is my dream (love the bloke but he kills us)

Someone said in the post-game - maybe Fletch - that the bunker weren't given access to that top down view that showed the offside most clearly. Something about not all grounds having that camera angle?

Feels a bit silly if that's the case... if its there, why not use it. They seem happy to use everything else at every opportunity.

Amazing that pretty much every news outlet is leading with the death of a professional wrestler - it was an iconic time with him, Andre, Macho Man Randy Savage, Miss Elizabeth, The Ultimate Warrior, Rick Rude,Ted Dibiase, George the Animal Steele, Brutus, Big Bossman, the American Dream, Brett Hart etc etc... shocking how many of them have already passed, Hulk was a global star of the highest level - and so many of us grew up watching those soap operas

The Honky Tonk Man after he was 'ambushed' by the Ultimate Warrior for the Inter-Continental Title: 'I said I'd fight anyone but I didn't mean the Warrior!' I know what he meant.

Another golden memory is the Rude/Snake feud: 'Here comes Jake the Snake!' Gripping television. Snake stormed out to the ring and it was really on!

Late 1988 we had WWF Wrestle Mania on TV2, it blew up from there and became a weekly massive rater. I was out by 1990 though, as I thought I'd seen it all.

Bunch ive forgotten.

My earlier memory of wrestling is a holiday to Waipu Cove, my mum let me stay up until 11:17 (I still vividly remember what the analog clock said) to watch I think it was Royal Rumble, or Wrestlemania, or whatever it was.

I also thought for years that my weak eyebrows were because I put zinc on them one day pretending to be Hulk Hogan at a school dress up day.

Also remember going to Mt Smart for a WWF (?) event around 94 or so, the Bushwackers were the main event.

Probably not that shocking that most of them are dead. You look at their physiques now and can clearly see they were juiced to the eyeballs. They seemed to live a hell of a life, if you read and believe the stories about Andre the Giant, Hulk, Ric Flair etc.

Yep absolutely, remember the video shop for the 7 videos. If there was a real winner you'd go the $7 for overnight, but you had to be sure it was going to be a good one.

I might go back a little further than you guys in that i remember watching On the Mat as a kid on a Sunday afternoon with Ernie Leonard and Steve Rickard. Stars like Don Muraco would come to NZ and the most famous heel i remember was King Curtis.
Rick Martel also came to NZ to wrestle in the 70s but i dont remember that.

Heard the Hogan entrance music today and it’s instantly ingrained in my head again, it will never leave alongside others like the Alex Kidd music, Greatest American Hero theme song, The Million Dollar Man’s laugh. I do a reasonably good Macho Man “ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhh” as well
