Ok so by your logic Powderfinger, Silverchair, pretty much any Australian band is not only worse than but crap compared to Madonna or Cher or Kylie because they have bigger fan bases and would attract a bigger crowd. It's like the people that try to say Titanic is the best movie of all time because it's the highest grossing. Mate you're dead set clueless and you just can't admit that you're wrong. You = Fail.

Loudy has no idea about current day music or how big Kings of Leon, Powderfinger, etc, are...

What the hell are you on about now?

You sound like a Korean who types in his native language and then translates it. Do you write the instruction booklets for Korean TV's?

And still didn't quote the crowd - you know, the thing that stopped thousands of supporters from going to the footy?

No. Bigger.

are you people still going on about all this stuff.

i dont get it, some of you are daft

ms storm had it right in the first place.

Ummm... you said it yourself...

While I suppose you're right about perception being misguided, the first 50-60 minutes of the game was dull as dishwater and the only time it sparked interest during that period was when Lyons or James stuffed up. The last 15 however was quite fun to watch

And WTF does the salary cap in 2002 have to do with the price of fish right now? Hell, what do the Bulldogs have to do with a Parra/Raiders game?

The remainder of your post - you mention bandwagoners - I would've thought that after winning last weekend you would've had a few.

Sorry, mate. I get a bit touchy when it comes to the Eels, seeing as they're my team.

Yes, I love them and the fans, but I would wager Parramatta has the largest percentage of bandwagon fans of any NRL team, specially after the 2001 and 2005 seasons.

And you're right - I'm a diehard fan and I thought the game on Saturday sucked.

It does actually. The fact 20-30 odd of the raiders army's finest out cheered 11k of home fans, from a losing side says a lot about our passion and committment. And even more about yours.

That's actually a good point. Every time I start a " FUIIIIIIIII!" or "Let's go Hindy, let's go!" or even the basic "Parra! *clap clap clap*!" chant alone everyone stays quiet and looks at me like I'm insane.

f**ked if I care, though - if I wanted to sit silently and watch a game I'd watch it at home.

they pick out the ugly ones to make the people feel better at home ;-)

And yes, Raiders fans are #1 in the stands, im quite proud of that, looking forward to the big one in a couple of weeks against the sharkies lads

If 30 of us out cheer an entire stadium each of those weekends. Absolutely. Get used to it.

Timmah, you of all people getting narky about someone's posting habits... well, pot, kettle, black.
Then why did about 50 Bulldog fans last year at Canberra out do the Raiders fans when we were getting smashed and finishing with the spoon.

Powederinger and Kings Of Leon are great bands and very popular, but...

Comparing to AC/DC? As in multiple record-breaking artists and legendary hard rock act AC/DC?

Please.

Because 47 of those 50 didn't understand what "winning the spoon" meant....they actually thought they were winning...

:sarcasm:

Just kidding.

Probably because you're insane or at least slightly geniused. I was at that game, the dogs barely made a peep. There were a couple of good, loud chants but the dogs fans couldn't maintain it. Not that i blame them, it was a horror season, they were getting smashed and hand the spoon wrapped up. Not much to cheer about. But i admire their efforts. Lesser fans wouldn't have even bothered travelling for that game.

I actually applaud R69 and other great fans. Good on them for actually going out to games and cheering for the team they love so much.

Much as I love Parramatta, it's true - you start cheering when the team is down and they need you and everyone stares at you like you're an idiot.

Mate, the raiders away to the bulldogs last year was the biggest caning (on and off the field) I have ever seen a home team cop. I almost felt bad for you guys. Sit next to Bay 72 at bruce and see how you go.

Has anyone been to a Cowboys game (home & most away) and seen the old guy who stands out the front of the cowboys supporters with the cowbell and the megaphone? No better way to get us up when our team is down, and it even works sometimes! He is to the Cowboys what 'Yobbo' was to the old Aussie cricket team - A true legend. I think he is our no.1 ticket holder too.

No one said anything to suggest it cant or hasn't happened. Its just pretty rare. The sharkies lads and the dragons on their day give us a bloody good challenge. Im pumped for round 5!
As for that last round dogs game. We were poor imo, particularly in the second half when the game was won and we were score board watching figuring out weather we were off to shark park or brookie the following week in the semi's. Hopefully the dogs fans travel in numbers round 7, we've got a bus from sydney full of raiders fans to boost numbers so it should be a beauty.

I tip my hat to him. Sounds like a top bloke and good passionate fan. More of that would be great. The australian sporting culture is sh*t imo. Sit down and shut up... No thanks
