Who's faster - Kev or Aku

Just watching the Titans v Broncos game again and saw that length of the field try by Kevin Gordon where none of the Broncos made any ground on him - which reminded me that he made 2 or 3 breaks against us in NYC and Kev Naiquama smoked him for speed and got him each time, and he also ran down other NYC speedsters like Locke etc in other games - which makes him the fastest guy in NYC i reckon.

I reckon Aku and Kev would have a great race against each other, with Aku just faster maybe.

I've seen Kev put his pace to more use than I have Aku, that's for sure.

How is young Naiqama going anyway? People don't seem to rate him here but from what I've seen he can make big plays in attack and defense.

Amazing speed and acceleration.

How old is Kevin Naigauma? How far do you think he's off first grade?

I'd love to tell you how fast Kevin Naiqama is but unfortunately everytime I've seen the ball passed to him he's dropped it.

yep. that's him in a nutshell. he's bloody quick... i've seen him in the clear once or twice... and every single other time i've ever seen him (try to) catch the ball he has dropped it. i can't remember seeing a worse pair of hands.

Is Aku that fast? I cant remember him out running anyone completely this year? Has he lost some of his speed or we just havent been putting him in positions to utilise it this year?

Kev was very uncoordinated at the start of this season, but he has had a massive growth spurt over the last two years.
First time i saw him in the 2008 trials he couldn't have been more than 173 cm, and now go about 185 cm or so - and he is massively faster as well.
I think his coordination has been catching up with his growth this season, and he isn't too bad now - good enough to score 4 tries a few weeks ago.

Yosh I think he means a one of or a combination of

A) Sau doesn't pass him the ball

and/or

B) He never positions himself to do anything that will utilize his speed.

Sorry if I'm way off Coby

Pretty close to the mark. His positioning in attack stifles a lot of his attacking opportunity.

Yeah I totally agree with those 2 points. Is there a coach out there who could turn Sau into Matt Gidley and Aku Uate into Lote Tuquri?

re aku
1. sau cant pass - wat happened to him? he was SUCH a gun last year this year hes been ok but last year they were saying he could play for QLD

2. aku always run sideways for some reason. he should learn off cooper-v. charge STRAIGHT ahead, ragdolls the first guy, trample over him then speed away

3. he did speed away once this year, vs brisbane. my goodness he was fast (not only did they not gain on him, he was moving clear)

Speed is daly nothing when you dont have the smarts or will to back it up. See Albert, still the fastest player I have ever seen in RL and i could count on half a hand how many times i saw him use it to beat someone. I'd love to see Stone get Aku and tell him to play like Vuna. Honestly, with two rampaging wingers like they could be, we would be very hard to stop.

Uate has a beautiful stride.
A very very good athlete - you would assume he would be good at a sport like Basketball too.

Cheers mate....im guessing 100m is similar result to 40? mullen would be up there too no?

Love aku's goose step against cooks, showed amazing accelleration and made a goose of the would be tackler.... Prob more impressed with his 2nd barge over try though, he showed real confidence! he ran 20 meters and kicked out 2 players from dummy half, one of them the hooker. Basically said to the Cooks defenders, im going for a crack here, just see if you three can stop me.....They couldnt!

Really hope he can rediscover his early 2009 form, or better, so we can see he and vuna in 2 and 5.
