2ND TEST: Australia v Pakistan SCG Jan 3-7 2010

Geez there are some wankers on this forum. It was a really entertaining game of Test Cricket, just when tests needed it and it was a great comeback to win on the last day for the Aussies. Of course Australia haven't played great but they won when the match looked lost. Usually the best matches involve a mixture of good and bad cricket. Its sad that people are so serious in criticising that they can't see the positives.

Man of the Match: Michael Hussey!

Right here...why does Pakistan throwing the game down the gurgler with every possible mistake vindicate Ponting in any way? We haven't won this game, Pakistan have lost it.
Agreed, just because we won does not make it the right decision, if we had of sent them in it could have been over last night, Akmals 4 clangers have saved our backsides. Well done to Huss and to Siddle for turning the game around.

I'd go Kamran Akmal...

Still a great one. An amazing comeback.

Great for entertainment value, definitely. Not great from a cricketing perspective. When you have to produce a miracle to beat Pakistan on a green top, it's probably not your best performance tbh...

LOL. Just because we won, does not make batting first the correct decision. Or is North's drop of Farhat on the second day no longer a mistake?

Yes
Why wouldn't it be?
If we were against the Poms, India, or South Africa we would have been thrashed.

Bad victories like this will be the reason we slip further behind those three nations

You're overreacting. We can't be number 1 all of the time. Just that so many people have been spoilt who only followed the game the last 10-15 years. They didn't follow the game back in the 80's when we were struggling under Border. When I first started following cricket at age 6 or so we'd won only 1 test or so in 3 years and we were the West Indies bitches.

Shows why the decision at the toss was the right one, the 2nd and 3rd innings of the game were always going to be good for batting, difference is the team batting last also has the pressure on them of trying to win

Better to put the touring side under that pressure, the team down 1-0 in the series than be chasing yourself against a quality spinner in Kaneria

No question it was a fantastic game. It just wasn't a great quality game. The result in the end came down to which side stuffed up more than the other.

If the Pakis could field and had actually come out looking to take wickets this morning they'd be sucking back celebratory non-alcoholic drinks right now. But they choked and we have always been happy to take advantage of other sides stuff ups.

What was terrible was our first innings. From that moment onwards it was a brilliant fightback and an enthralling contest.

Craftsmen in Lahore are making effigies as we speak.

I'm not even a Pakistan supporter and I was absolutely disgusted by their capitulation.

Excellent win.

this has been a great test, it is unfortunate it ended this way, everything Pakistan did after tea, with the exception of Umar Akmal's knock was utter crap.

Everyone saying Australia did not win - Pakistan lost is 100% right

Yeah look, I would'nt have bat first on something so green either, but geez, I can't recall so much talk around the country about cricket than there has been about that decision. My mates mum called him up from interstate to complain about Ponting.

Lighten up people. It's only a game.
