Did you even read what was written? My guess is no. You are so obsessed with making this all about labor, that as soon as you saw the name of one of your liberal heroes, you saw red and just had to attack him.

The discussion was about politicians giving money to sporting teams. Try reading next time you dumb merkin.

It is painfully obvious Flavius you have been selectively reading my posts .So be a good man and read the full story not the excerpts. You may actually get the gist, but based on your outburst I doubt it.
I happened to be the one ,who noted monies beingpaid toCollingwood via Lundy .At last reports Collingwoood is a sporting club and it received grants.
I am concerned about the players first, second and third,as my club is the most affected. So give yourself an uppercut.

The grant is for a community centre (mainly for women) within the Collingwood training centre - big difference.

they don't need a grant

they are worth a fortune and can pay for it themselves

Lundy just loves handing out money to the AFL

don't think she has given one NRL club a cent

I deemed it excellent as it brought up issues in more depth than had been covered here.

No one said facts. Settle down.

Yes I am biased against bumbling fools. Just as your biased for them. (And by bumbling fools I dont mean Labor. I mean all forms of large, wasteful, unnecessary government.)

Not really, the issues raised were not new and touched on very briefly (not in depth).

Shit, Bob Gosford could be the real name of Dingle Dangles or Parra or yourself for that matter. It was just a opinion piece by a no body.

Doubt I'm bias, just reserving judgment until the end of the investigation and not believing all the bullshit from the media and the rednecks.

The grant is given to the wealthiest club in the land FFS .Whilst NRL clubs are screaming for facility improvements eg Brookvale.
GWS has been getting via grants for facility improvement $45m for Blacktown/Homebush from both Fed and State. Fairness????

The grant mentioned is for a community centre (emphasis, on women) - not solely for the PIES. I'm just being truthful.

As for the rest of your statement - fairness, not really.

But the topic is about sportspersons possibly using performance enhancing drugs.

The focus is on women, meaning others can use the facility. The facility is owned by the richest sporting club in this countryand gets the money.NRL clubs do not

Yes that is the topic, and funding is part of the necessities in life to get a result via ASADA.Directly relating to sporting persons who may or may not have been using performance enhancing drugs.
Without funding they can't operate.Unless I am missing something.

which Labor will ignore in the AFL

they've already hinted they'll let Essendon off despite WADA advising them the drug they took should be considered banned

I doubt the facility (community centre) is owned by the PIES - it is just located within the training centre. Could be wrong, though.

Do you always disagree with made up arguments?
1. Issues raised were not new (Who said they were?)
2. No one said the issues were covered "in depth", I said issues were "more in depth" than had been covered here: i.e. listing how the 3 different sporting bodies (NRL, AFL + Cycling) have different procedures for working with ASADA. Where in this thread has this been covered? Oh you didn't say in your bias, defensive ranting.

Doubt I'm bias, just reserving judgment until the end of the investigation and not believing all the bullshit from the media and the rednecks.

If you think you are without bias than your a special one aren't you

El Diablo mentioned this excellent Crikey article earlier, it raises some interesting points, including:

This is not the first time ASADA have employed questionable investigation methods

ASADA are conflicted: Appears the left hand of ASADA doesn?t know what the right hand is doing, or maybe, even worse

Anyways glad to hear interviews are about to start. Let's hope these bumbling fools get their investigation over and done with sooner rather than later.

Excellent post and excellent atricle which raises some interesting points. Thanks very much.

Dude, you are reading more into an opinion piece than any fair minded person could.

I can assure you the dealings of ASADA with the NRL, AFL and Cycling has been covered in this thread.

The article raises how the different governing sport bodies handle possible drug violations - that is an issue for the sporting bodies not ASADA. In other words, if the sporting bodies set up a scheme that is reasonable and fair, ASADA (WADA) has no issue - cycling clearly wants their scheme for possible drug violation to be heard by their international body with ASADA (WADA) as the prosecutor, the AFL and NRL handle these hearings in-house where they prosecute.

You admit your bias, you admit (I believe) you support a team under investigation, you raise issues about the cost of the NBN and relate that to the efficiency of an underfunded ASADA, you then stated they are bumbling fools.

Dude, I'm struggling to understand your point/s.

Question: If ASADA refers possible player drug violations to the NRL tribunal; the NRL prosecute and there are guilty verdicts handed down by the panel; will you accept it or will you see it as a denial of justice or a conspiracy?

So no fair-minded person would ever call an opinion piece interesting?

Again you respond with 2 made up arguments

Wrong. I'm a Titan's supporter.

you raise issues about the cost of the NBN

Wrong. Never said anything bout NBN. I'm in IT, I actually like Labor's plan better than the Liberals (75% cost for 25% quality = Bad plan), we are a unique country with remote capital cities we need strong infrastructure to compete in a digital economy (Conroy is an absolute tool I'll never forgive for trying to bring in the internet filter).

Dude, I'm struggling to understand your point/s.

Stop being so defensive and open your mind to understand different points of view, then you might understand.

I don't think anyone would have issue with that, assuming this fiasco of an investigation eventually arrives there. But will it be worth the damage they have done, not only to the sporting clubs but also to the Labor brand?

Here's a decent reference point, the club has a long term lease extended by 21 years

http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl...rts-rorts-affair/story-e6frf3e3-1226367600361

The centre is costing $36m Collingwood is putting in also decent monies.

One would have to be deluded to think, this mob received the grant as they were impoverished.

Looking at the big picture, Labor have done pretty well over the last few years. Europe is broke and has something like 12% unemployment. The USA is going s**t. I think Aust. is one of eight countries in the world that still has the max credit rating - not too shabby during such uncertain financial times. On the world stage their brand should look pretty good. Pretty much everyone in the world is jealous of us. One of the reasons for that is we have the time to get our knickers ina knot over some footy players.

It's probably a sign of how much time and money Australians have right now compared to the rest of the world that people are suggesting that this issue will have a political effect. The rest of the world are struggling to get a job or a feed and we have the sh**s that SOO might be compromised lololol
