How did Denan Kemp fall so far so quickly, looked like he future rep player at the broncos, I thought he would be a great signing for the warriors when he went there but it's like he just forgot how to play football

Your still in dock ol' mate, first mate Cleary is the bloke who'll have to get the joint ship shape . . . Jabba's just been standing behind the chair he's sitting on signing new blood on board.

A doldrum is a place where the wind doesn't blow, something Jabba's unacustomed to, if it ever stops blowing up his arse he'll beat the rats off

You don't give Gus any credit? Lol ok old man.

De Belin Re-Signs With Dragons
Friday 31 January 2014 9:00 AM

The St George Illawarra Dragons on Friday announced that Jack de Belin has agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension that will see him remain at the Club until at least the end of 2017.

De Belin, 22, made his debut for the Dragons during the 2011 campaign against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and has played 42 first-grade games to date. The Cootamundra Bulldogs junior, who played 20 first-grade games last season, was named both the National Youth Competition ‘Player of the Year’ and selected to the Junior Kangaroos team in 2011.
“The Dragons are a great club that have provided me the opportunity to break into first-grade and help establish myself as a player,” said de Belin.
“I am happy being here and I am excited to continue being able to play football alongside some of my best friends. I know this is the best place to continue my development and looking into the future I would someday like to become one of the leaders here at the Club.”

Dragons CEO Peter Doust has welcomed the news of de Belin’s decision to remain at the Club for at least the next four seasons. “Jack is a player that we identified a number of years ago who has developed into a regular NRL player and we are very pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement that will see him remain at the Club for at least another three seasons beyond this year," said Doust. "Jack shows great dedication and commitment to everything he does at our Club and his contributions both on and off the field are extremely positive and make him a key signing and major contributor to the future of our Club."

Additionally, the Dragons have confirmed the signing of Willie Mataka to a one-year contract that will see him remain at the Club until at least the end of the season. Mataka, 25, who can play in the centre or second-row, debuted for Wests Tigers during the 2009 campaign and has additionally played for the Sydney Roosters (2011), Parramatta Eels (2012) and most recently the Illawarra Cutters (2013).

Good work by the Dragons there. DeBelin, with the right coaching, can become a test player imo.

Because he is just a winger who is made look good by the players inside him. Like a lot of wingers.

Yeh I get that but it's not like he was a god first grader who then turned into an average 1st grader, he went from future rep star to playing in the park.

Kemp was in fantastic form in 08 but he always had technical and positional issues. His work under the high ball was questionable and he graduated from the Ty Williams school of crabbing from dummy half, just for instance.

I thought he started off well at the Warriors but over time, it was clear he was struggling over in NZ and his form deterroriated. The contrast in performances from the Round 2 Sea Eagles game to the Round 17 (?) Broncos game was crazy.

He came home, was a hero in his first game then two games later he punctured his rib trying to take on Big Manu and he was never the same after that. I believe he came back in Round 7 or so and it was too early. From there, he kept trying to make it onto the field for Easts but couldn't sustain himself.

Broncs released him so he could play 7s Rugby, but that didn't take so he accepted some small deal from the Dragons. It was pretty clear he didn't have any interest in League at this point and he was just keen to be a 20 something year old. He came back up here when the Broncos were desperate for wingers (if you saw Maranta, you'd see why) and despite having a knack for scoring tries, Hook opted to keep him at the Dolphins. His form for them was pretty poor and he didn't last the season. I think Hook named him for that Monday Night Warriors massacre and ended up playing Whitchurch (who was horrible) & Kemp was gone not long after that.

Jabba is the best thing that could have happened to Penrith because of his peculiar knack of drawing attention from all quarters, just don't overdo his praise for what happens on the field
