All is not lost my friend as the famed twin streaks continue.

That's now 20 straight losses to teams not named Canterbury to go with the 2 consecutive wins vs all teams named Canterbury.

I actually only just saw the highlights and the sight of a centre steamrolling your forwards leader up the guts is the 10 second gif moment that defines this glorious Broncos era.

Up until very recently the Broncos were the go to club for the majority of Qld’s star juniors. Especially The Sth East. The place was run like a well oiled machine and had Bennett running the show. The talented kids did not want a bar of any other Qld club. Then Bronco’s management change things, the big one was poaching A rookie coach from South’s after one good season and punt Bennett from the organisation entirely. Now they have coach who was a great player and a club legend but can hardly put two words together or even speak coherently at times. When he was a commentator he came across as the class clown, pretty much a fool. Whether they were getting him to warm the seat for Bellamy is up for debate, but Kevin is not taking them anywhere near the heights a club like the Broncos should be at.
.
This then happens as well:
.
The loss of Fifita was a biggie, absolutely the money on offer by the Titans was huge and played a role, but the Titans now have a very good team both on and off the field. Their coach seems to be doing the right things with an ability to coach footy but to also manage his players. Players will want to go there for these reasons. At this time in history the script has been flipped and it’s the Titans who are winning the battle of Sth East Qld and northern NSW. As others have stated, these things come in cycles and it’s The Bronco’s turn to suck.

Well I thought 50 was well and truly on the card tonight

Just not good enough and the troubling thing is we weren't good enough in the basics of what it takes to be a first grader in the NRL, kick chase and the like
Broncos did not concede a point in the first 25 minutes of the first half and the first 18 of the second. Then the floodgates opened. They might have outlasted the Bulldogs last week, a team with no attacking ability whatsoever, but this suggests not a lack of ability but a lack of fitness.

Even from 1995 when the Cowboys were admitted, you could see the Broncos become less powerful after a few years (not immediately), and the Titans entering in 2007 accelerated it. There had been a Gold Coast side before, of course, entering the same year as the Broncos (which was an odd decision) but they were comprised mainly of players sourced from Sydney clubs and those from Queensland that the Broncos didn't need.

Nonetheless even with a second Brisbane franchise, the Broncos have advantages most other clubs would die for.

Agree to a certain extent. The first reincarnation of the GC was a mess. Ronnie Gibbs was the franchise player and they ended up with no cash flow once the Qld Government allowed pokies and legal gambling which caused the Seagulls club at Tweed Heads and the Giant’s cash cow go broke in record time.
.
The first few years of John Cartwright at the GC after their revival were encouraging, but as you said most players were imports with next to no juniors. Then things blew up. Michael Searle nearly single handedly destroyed the franchise. Since then it has been pretty ordinary. Up until now.
.
The Crushers were given the arse as part of the ARL/Super League treaty and were never really given any chance due to this.
.
Nth Qld is a funny one. They should be among the contenders every year. Massive area that contains truck loads of juniors, now a brand new stadium, a coach who seems to be what they needed at the time.
.
Their first finals appearance was in 2004, but they always seemed to be the team that just made up the numbers for years. Then the Bulldogs made one of the biggest errors in their history, some of it their fault some of it the players, Jonathan Thurston leaves Sydney and goes there. Becomes the text book version of a franchise player and apart from playing a year too long the rest is history, but it took time.

If having a massive junior nursery was all it took, Panthers would not have taken almost 20 years to first reach the finals, and Parramatta would not have run last 14 times. You've got to be able to develop them properly and you've got to provide an environment that makes them want to play for your club and not the Roosters, Broncos, etc etc. And you need a lot of luck as well.

Can’t argue with this. Pretty much Nailed it.
