    Non Footy related discussion

The claim was made that covid vaccines are killing “a lot more” children than covid itself, this is totally false. There’s no supporting evidence for “both sides” on this one. 1. it’s true, covid is of very low risk to children overall. 2. it’s also true that around 13000 children have died...

You made the claim, now back it up with evidence. I hate this weak response “go and look”. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

All the kids dying from the vax?! FMD. This is absolutely not happening, whatever rabbit hole you’ve gone down is lying to you, but ultimately you’re responsible for spreading misinformation. Pull your head in.

    New stadium - 2025

Can’t run east - west for day games. Leichardt used to run east to west, caused too many issues so they changed it to north - south.

    New stadium - 2025

Both ends are actually quite tight, but the southern end is the tightest. I wonder if they’d consider encroaching south or north? South more likely because if you went north you’d have to close the Ransley St, but that’s not necessarily impossible.

    New stadium - 2025

This is off topic so I’ll make it my last post on this, but their crowds are abysmal. Even rich people will get sick of throwing good money after bad. If they needed Tigers to make it viable their pockets can’t be all that deep.

    New stadium - 2025

It does have seats, look at the picture. Plus parramatta has a safe standing area for soccer matches. You don’t have to use the area as standing for NRL matches, it could simply be used for any potential soccer at the stadium. I’m sure the govt will be keen to see it used over summer. But I...

    New stadium - 2025

Safe standing is also seats, note the picture. You can lock the seats in position or you can leave them up. Having an area like this might help the stadium attract some soccer matches as well. I‘m certain there’ll be both mens and womens change rooms, but there won’t be the money for a...

    New stadium - 2025

Liverpool is thrown up to maximise tenants. A stadium there could potentially have the Bulldogs, Tigers and maybe even the MacArthur Aleague team. Although I think the latter is doomed to fail.

    New stadium - 2025

Something that might offer a compromise for those who want a grass hill is a safe standing terrace. You could do this on the southern end where there’s less room for a grandstand. modern ones look like this

    New stadium - 2025

Anyway, I hope they settle on 25k seats. It gives us room for some growth whilst not being too big that a 15k crowd feels empty. I’d like to see something architecturally unique about the stadium as well, as long as it doesn’t compromise viewing angles or wet weather protection. Getting as many...

Aren‘t the club likely to run buses between the leagues club and the stadium as well? I’m sure they’re working on a plan to minimise the disruption.

    New stadium - 2025

Trains between Penrith and Parramatta are as short as 25 mins, then a short walk. Perhaps the club could organise shuttle buses between Parramatta station and the stadium to ease the burden a bit. I really don’t see much advantage in selling games to other locations, in fact I think it could be...

    New stadium - 2025

It won’t be every second week assuming a couple extra go to Bathurst. 9 games over 6 months is 1 every 3 weeks. Hardly a massive task. Spreading ourselves too thin I think would be a mistake. Bathurst makes a lot of sense because it’s a genuine nursery for the team, but I don’t see one or two...

    New stadium - 2025

It’s not about them servicing east of Blacktown, it’s about Parramatta being closer than Bathurst to take their clients to. I already said a couple of extra games at Bathurst would be fine, but anymore than that would be risking losing touch with Sydney based fans & sponsors. Even more so...

I don’t mind the grass area at Townsville, but other than that yeah no grass.
  18. herbert henry1908

    New stadium - 2025

Anecdotal evidence fallacy. Firstly the club needs to satisfy its Sydney based sponsors, they’re much more important than finding new ones. Sponsors aren’t going to want to schlepp out to Bathurst every second week. Secondly there‘s penrith fans who live east of Penrith, plenty in the Blacktown...

    New stadium - 2025

Suspect most fans would disagree. One or two extra at Bathurst is fine, but it’s a long journey out there for most fans. Parramatta is 30-40 mins.

    3rd Test: Pakistan v Australia @ Lahore, March 21-25 2022

Starc’s record on slow wickets is diabolical. Aside from the one tour to Sri Lanka he’s always been smashed on lifeless wickets. In India he averages 50 in UAE 53 in Pakistan 62 and even in Australia on the slower wickets of SCG & MCG he struggles. It’s time to unleash Boland.
