    Please...its only because the broadcasters have said he could, our previous leaders were being run out of town by Murdoch media as they didnt do as they were told. He was even allowed to go to England for a horse race the other week with barely a ripple in the media....sooooo committed to RL.

    Agree with you there. Sadly as much as everyone praises V'landys never mentioning Abdo, the truth is they are puppets for the broadcasters and clubs to get their own way. Bennett knows why we aren't playing these games it is because the broadcasters said so. Same reason we have a 17th team...

    It wont happen, NRL clubs will NOT release players. The clubs control the game along with the broadcasters. Internationsl will ONLY be played post season.

    Agreed the crowds for the whole game are concerning can't seem to hit that average 20k. Maybe the invisible man has the cure if we can ever find him, Abdo that is. I see it was OK for V'landys to go to England for the races yet when past leaders wanted to go away for things not associated with...

    Most rugby league suporters are fairly passive compared to AFL or Sounds like alot of excuses, maybe it's time to move the Raiders to Perth. Too much of a struggle in Canberra only averaged over 12,500 three times in the last 26 years. Surely the Raiders Leagues clubs can help them out...

    Fair enough, however Canberra should be drawing better crowds. My point is the game struggles for crowds across the whole game.

    I think these nations are going to be reclassified as tier 1 nations and as a result the players will earn as much as Australian players so there is no more of this nation hopping. However the NRL/broadcasters, who now own and run the game, cant have it mid season as it could compromise...

    This is correct....the game is now run by the clubs...they were the ones who stopped last years WC.

    I think This is the reason the NRL will stop these tests mid season because once Tonga Samoa etc receive equal pay ie. 15K. They have no need to play origin as their heart and pride is with their country. So the solution is keep origin and pacific tests apart.

    And so after this year international league will be pushed out the way so origin is unhindered.
