    2019 Discussion

Whare is on a minimal contract, zero point moving him on only to get someone of lesser quality for the same money. The hope was/is one of the younger guys would kick on & he’d be a dependable back up. Tbh I think some are hitting the panic button too early. We looked decent for 65 mins last...

I’m keeping the same 17 other then moving DWZ to centre, Aekins or Edwards to fullback. Edwards is coming back from a long term injury, what we saw the first month is not a reflection of his ability. Hopefully he has a blinder in Cup.

    Anthony Griffin

Bring back the Hookster In seriousness though, probably proves the guy wasn’t doing nearly as bad a job as some thought.

    Round 6 vs Sharks

Jesus mate, R U OK? I can think off the top of my head a couple of times where Egan was saved my DWZ on the line in the first 15. Anywayyyyy this ain’t gonna go anywhere.

    Round 6 vs Sharks

I don’t think we’re too far off, there was some good signs, definite progression in some areas. Thought Cleary had another good game as did the majority of the forward pack. Egan looked good & Blake looked as dangerous as he has all year. We lost. Life goes on.

    Round 6 vs Sharks

Yeh really not sure why Cleary left him out there. Seemed obvious to everyone that he was out on his feet. Thought he put in a decent shift but was left out there for 15+ mins too long.

    Round 6 vs Sharks

FWIW I wouldn’t of taken Egan off, he was going well but I think he was spent given his lack of time of late. The exact same as Katoa shouldn’t of been dragged last week. Youre talking about Katoa’s defence being the main reason, what try was his fault? What chance was created from his missed...

What’s your other option though? Kikau?

    Round 6 vs Sharks

I guess it evens up the Tigers game. Never thought we were losing that. Think people are being harsh on Mansour & his positioning, Yeo got an absolute bath at centre which I thought isolated him. Hindsight should of moved Blake but at the same time Cleary was probably trying not to disrupt the...

    Round 6 vs Sharks

Wasn’t expecting that at all. Cronulla have been poor & are clearly undermanned but you can only play what’s in front of you. Grant winding back the clock. Mansours been fine. Misjudged a bomb but he’s been doing that his whole career.

Get the Hookmeister back in to sharpen up the boys.

    Round 6 vs Sharks

Huh? He had a good game & looked much improved from previous games, not sure how anyone could really argue otherwise? I don't base a players performance solely on run metres. If Egan was banging down the door, fair enough, but IMO he's been poor & looks well behind Katoa at this point (that's...

    Round 6 vs Sharks

Can't really understand the thinking behind dropping Katoa the week after he has a solid game.

Who would/could be available? Maybe Korisau?

Happy with that, but i agree its interesting it's not Maloney & probably cements that he won't be here next year.

    Round 6 vs Sharks

Like this side but I'd still go with Mansour on the wing & Fui starting, Cartwright on the bench.

    hookers for next year

Who is overrating him? I don’t think anyone thinks he’s in the top 10 hookers in the comp, but he’s also not near as bad as some make him out to be especially given he’s playing against a (currently) poor forward pack.

    hookers for next year

Its an absolute myth that Katoa doesn’t have good service. Very rarely misses the mark. His consistent distribution is probably one of his strengths tbh. Kilkennys right though, if we had a Burgess brother (or similar) up front, someone that’s going to land on their front more often then not...
