Round 6 vs Sharks

We missed 50 tackles...you don't win games like that

I’d love to see when during the game we missed those tackles. I suspect the majority were in the last 20 minutes.

There are missed tackles due to poor technique and then there are missed tackles due to being gassed. I am sure most of our missed tackles were in the latter category. As soon as possession goes us against us later in games we don’t have the endurance to come back.

Game was in control. When Dwz made a break then gave away a penalty it flipped the coin. That was the end.

Playing to safe for mine. No spark. Bloody one of the most exciting sides is by far the most boring now. Missing Peachey big time. If could of signed him and had let Mansour go.
It seemed we were playing too conservatively once we got to a 20-6 lead. Once the other side senses this false sense of security, you're fooking toast.

I'm sick of banging my head against a brick wall. I'm done.

you just knew by the way the ball boomed off cleary's boot when he virtually tapped it that it was a 14+ pt breeze at half time.
but dallin's dumb play early in the 2nd half was the real turning point. still the best fullback we have by a mile. just needs to get the silly sh!te like that out of his game. otherwise threatened from the back with quite a few strong runs.

How do we get the refs on our side for a change?
I knew when I saw Cummins was the ref that we were in trouble. The first half with even penalties we lead 14-0. Enter Cummins in the second half and they get 4-0 penalties and several iffy 6 again calls and get all the momentum to go on with it. We had one set in 15 minutes. Any wonder they were buggered And the winning pass was a couple of metres forward.
All we ask for is an even refereeing performance, is that too much to ask for?
Losing Whare cost us dearly.

So unlike the Saints who normally come out at the start of the season a million miles an hour, and burn out by mid way through the year, we slowly build fitness over the year and peak at the end. I hope that is the logic behind what has happened.

That certainly was not the case for the Tigers last season.

I guess it evens up the Tigers game. Never thought we were losing that.

Think people are being harsh on Mansour & his positioning, Yeo got an absolute bath at centre which I thought isolated him. Hindsight should of moved Blake but at the same time Cleary was probably trying not to disrupt the whole side.

Game changed on Whare doing his hammy, not Katoa coming on imo.

Definitely not as fit as last year but that last half was ridiculous. We had zero ball & on our line most off the half.

It takes a special talent to take a side that was in the semi's three years in a row and the fittest side in the comp and turn them into an error strewn, bunch of knacker bags who can't run out of sight on a dark night. Forget the influence of the refs. the Sharks run around us repeatedly. Why? Because we are unfit, slow and stupid (hence the multiple penalties).

68 missed & ineffective tackles vs 19 for the Sharks.
Average set distance is 44m Sharks vs 35.6m Panthers.
44 tackle breaks Sharks vs 14 for Panthers.

Why? Unfit and playing basic one out football that teams find easy to stop.

I know its only six rounds, but turn the oven off now. The goose is cooked.

Nope we are gone. Avoid the spoon should be the aim now

Yeo isn't a centre. Mansour gets lost on the wing and Maloney can't defend. Dumb dumb moves

He needs to be straight out dropped for that indiscretion. Make an example of him so the players, especially the ones that are always making the dumb decisions, think about their actions.

Of all the losses, this is a very hard one to swallow.

I've said it once, and I will say it again. WE are a VERY DUMB team. The Aggregate IQ of our roster would be hundreds lower than that of most other rosters. They also have poor EQ and low impulse control.

The backline needs a complete clean out. We need to find/blood a new back 3. Mansour too slow, can't jump. Malakai too slow. DWZ isn't that quick either and prone to extreme brain snaps.

I would NOT resign DWZ, MWZ or Edwards when their next contracts are up. I would also do anything possible to ship Mansour and/or Whare to England. Whilst were are at it Maloney has to go as well.

We need someone with speed/power/footwork that can create from nothing, or get us out of trouble/finish off opportunities. In the past we had Michael Jennings. Then we had Tyrone Peachey. Now we have nobody - our only X-factor is Kikau and the opposition all know it so they mark up well on him.

Any potential new recruit (either promoted junior or outsider) should be evaluated psychologically. If they are prone to ill discipline and/or lack of heart....do NOT sign, no matter how talented (physically or skill wise) we might think they are unless it is truly exceptional.

Gus is primarily responsible for years of poor roster management. He has got to go even though he DID make the right call with Bennett, the board had seen years of Gus's recruitment and coaching appointment fall flat so they had little trust in him and here we are. Whilst were are at it that idiot Chairman needs to be ousted.

This club is a shambles.

I didn't think the refs were that bad. Only call I thought was horrendous was Mansour's "knock on" prior to Xerri knocking the ball on in that period where we were parked on our own line. He was facing back (slightly) and the ball went back. No idea what they were seeing.

I don't think the refs lost us this one. Our intense stupidity and atrocious fitness did it.

That's about the only good thing about being a fan at the moment.

Who cares if people hate us? Manly, Storm and the Dogs don't seem to.
melbourne are hated but good, we are hated but bad

we're even more hated because the club got their way with the stupid father son duo and its done f**k all.
